It’s after the gap of more then twenty one days that I am posting anything on to my blog and during this period neither I was busy nor I was away and nor I had any health problem then one must be surprise that what make me not to post anything ? Well the reason I think I take some break for writing then start posting with more stats which make anything more powerful, authentic and attractive, so today I am back on auspicious day of Baisakhi.
Not only 13th April is celebrates in north India especially in Punjab and Haryana as festival by name Baisakhi but on this day lot of events happened in the past which make this day very important from history point of view also and most of them are related to Sikh religion. On the day of Baisakhi in the different part of Punjab State lot of big fairs hosted throughout Punjab and people of all the religions, cast and creed takes part in these celebrations with zeal and zest, farmers while seeing their golden crops standing and ready to cut whom after selling they will earn lot of money which will be remuneration of their almost six months hard work which comes to an end after they sell the grain in the market. As per Punjab’s geographically here two crops are major and they are of Harihi and Sauni, Harihi related to grain and Sauni with maize. Crop of Grain is major and first day of cutting the crop is called Baisakhi.Wheather crop is ready or not but farmers on that day while cutting some part treat it as auspicious time and become part of this day.
Tenth Guru of Sikh Religion Sri Guru Govind Singh Ji on Baisakhi day in the year of 1699 lay down the foundation of Khalsa Panth and motivate Sikh community to be brave, that’s by Sikh religion have respect for Baisakhi. From that period onwards Sikhs treat themselves followers of Khalsa Panth.
After Victory on Lahore Maharaja Ranjit Singh took royal ceremony on Baisakhi day. On 13th April, 1749 General Jassa Singh constitutes Khalsa Dal and gave new slogan ‘wahe guru ka Khalsa, wahe guru ki fateh’.
Before the Independence of India on 13Th April,1919 Jalianwala Bagh incidence is now almost ninety years old ,brief history of this event is that strike by the traders of Amritsar on 30th March and then on 6th April against the Rolette Act by British Government and on 12th and 13th April early in the morning in the streets announcement was made to gathered in Jalianwala Bagh for a protest against this Act, President of this meeting was twenty seven years old Doctor Gurbaksh Rai,four proposal were made, first was faithfulness towards British Government, second was criticism of their policies, third is request to the public to call off strike and fourth was demand of taking back rolette act by Indian Governement,On 13th April, 1919 at 09.30 a.m. General Dwyer reached with army in the Jalianwala Bagh, he declared there wont be any congregation, if more then four people gathered they will be separated by force, as General Dwyer got the information of public gathering in Jalianwala Bagh. While seeing General Dwyer entering with force Doctor Gurbaksh Rai visualize the situation going to be worse and he just spoke few words that general Dwyer order of shooting and in seconds all around there were innocent countless dead bodies.
Other then above coded some more legends incidence related to 13th April one of which is at the time of Mahabharat, when Pandavs’ loose everything in gamble to Kauravs’ then at the time of their unknown rehabilitation it’s believe on that day Draupadi express desire of bath, to fulfill her desire Daramandal was constructed in Pinjor.it’s also believe on that day lord Buddha was enlightened.
It shows that India’s history is full of great personalities which have contributed lot to this great country but unfortunately today’s youth/generation is going far away from the knowledge and indulges themselves in the blind race of modernization. Well no body is against modernization but if it accepted by youth and ignoring our great history and tradition then I think it’s a crime
