IPL Controversy !

On 19th January, 2010 Indian Premier League (IPL) began their activities for IPL edition III with the auction of sixty seven players from all the test playing countries plus some associates members of International Cricket Council (ICC),as only twelve slots left with all the franchisees’ to fill, that’s why it was expected that franchisee owners will eye and pick players which can become assets to their team and won’t run after name who may be famous but his availability during tournaments all matches’ are doubtful because of his commitment for his national team or security reasons stop him to play any game, thus IPL franchisees’ ignore and avoid to bid on Australian, England, South Africa, Sri Lanka and even Pakistani players as right now Pakistan is T20 Champion.
In the evening after auction of players completed, it was believed that now teams will make strategies for IPL season III which is going to start from March 12 to April (Look for schedule of matches’ under IPL Season III blog dated 21st January),but from all the players which were available for auction and not picked by any team no reaction comes forward from them barring all the Pakistani players they start making noise of foul play in the IPL auction and were very vocal through media and despite they know IPL team own and run by Film fraternity and industrialists of India and Indian Premier league is purely a private and commercialise league and it has nothing to do with ICC but yes backed by Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) and owners have every right to act and run their team as per their interest to get return on to their investments. Government and BCCI has not pass on directive relating to Pakistani players in the auction, but Pakistani players first started giving their reaction in media and yes in this process Indian electronics media are responsible to take mileage from others and become first to have Pakistani players views and reaction which give Pakistani Players platform to spew the venom the way they like against IPL auction. Had they not given importance then it would have been no more controversy as they are not the only which were ignored by IPL owners but almost every countries players were ignored, but once they express their views in media and it was commonly believe by them that they were not sold because IPL owners was under pressure to bypass them from Indian Government and politics and sport should not be mixed and sport can become source to eliminate bitterness among the citizen of both the countries and ignoring by IPL owners mean that they have snub Pakistani and certainly with this type of reaction one can imagine coming days store more uproar from there side. Next day news came that People of Pakistan were very furious the way IPL owners treated Pakistani players despite being T20 world champion some of them were best players and they deserved to be part of IPL season III. Then news came that Pakistani Cable operators took unanimous decision to boycott IPL matches and they will block IPL III. Gradually in next few days reaction comes from all the section of society of Pakistani from common men to Politicians. Politicians said India should be boycott in every manner and they stop the visit of their Election commission members whose visit were scheduled this week, their kabaddi team boycott India’s tour and people raising voices’ India should be responded on Tit for Tat pattern.
Surprising and shocking to listen, read and see the reaction of every Pakistani and they should understand that IPL is a organisation of commercial people and their franchisee owners have paid money to buy their respective so they are not bound to happy and oblige foreigners but they are independent to take action and decision for growth and benefit of their respective team in every regard whether its picking players or playing eleven or appointment of coaches.

Gift on Republic Day !

Yesterday Indians welcome 61st Republic Day with great zeal, zest and fervor. During past sixty years India has achieved lot of milestones but unfortunately they are over shadow by failures which needs to be eradicated from our system as soon as possible so that people of this country lead happy, prosperous and peaceful life. As per news some decisions has been taken by Punjab Government on or around 26th January to increase their revenue but putting additional burden on to the residents of Punjab as these decisions are directly related to the resident and industrialists of Punjab to generate revenue. Some of them which are going to make furious residents of state are below coded –
  • In today’s environment even to think of life without electricity is scary thought but it is the tragedy of North India’s one time most prosperous state Punjab which is under severe shortage of electricity not only in summer season when demand shoot because of running of some additional devices like Fans, Coolers, Fridges’ and Air Conditioners but also from last year in winter season also people are living life with five to six hours power cuts and the reason given by Electricity Board is that electricity they get from neighbouring states in summer season now they are giving back to them as they get from them on banking basis plus their demand increase and they are running short of power generation, so it mean people of state have to live throughout years minimum five to six hours power cuts in winter season and thirteen to fifteen hours in summer season at the same time some days are exceptional in the year when people get uninterrupted power supply regardlessly summer or winter season and they are –
o  When high level politicians visited their area then they get power supply without any load shredding.
o  Special/Important/Festival day during year like yesterday it was Republic day and power cut in
the state was around for one hour.
o  At the time of election in the state whether it is State Assembly, Municipal Committee, Panchayat
or Loksabha ,from time of announcement of election till voting day at least one and half month period
people get non stop twenty four hours electricity in the area where election takes place.
So until and unless Punjab Government not take any initiative to increase the power generation then consumer of Punjab State has to wait above coded three occasions to get uninterrupted power supply for twenty four hours.
  • Common people/Salary Class/Government Employees/Students are some categories of commuters who uses Government transportation most frequently, will get hole in their pocket with the decision of Punjab Government which they have taken yesterday to increase the bus fare from forty nine paisa per kilometer to fifty Six paisa per kilometer. It will certainly make frequent commuters upset and angry.
  • Government Employees who were going to retire this year and at the age of fifty eight years old get benefits from Punjab Government decision that this year they will get one year extension and are not going to retire, the numbers of total employees are almost twenty five thousand.
  • To increase the revenue Government has taken one more decision to increase the Value Added Tax (Vat) from four percent to five percent and on five percent vat surcharge of ten percent levied which will hit badly competitiveness of Punjab state producers as their products in the market will cost more then other states considering the fact they are already facing increase input cost of their products because of drought, power cuts.
We are living in the era of competition where only one thing apply to sell the product in the market and that is
                                    Better quality at low price
as consumer has lot of options available to pick the product they are looking for and mass of this country opt and consider the product which is lesser in price then they look for company, so to make level playing field for the local producers State Government should had given some sops to them, otherwise coming time can be harder and tougher for them in the market.

Today Indians are celebrating India’s 61st Republic day across the globe where ever they reside with full of zeal and zest to show their respect to great India.26th January 1950 is one of the most important days in the Indian history as it was on this day the constitution of India came into force and India became a truly sovereign state. On this day in the year 1950 India became a totally republican unit. The country finally realised the dream of Mahatma Gandhi and the numerous freedom fighters who, fought for and sacrificed their lives for the Independence of their country. The Republic Day of India commemorates the date on which the constitution of India came into force replacing the Government of India Act 1935 as the governing document of India on January 26, 1950 The date 26 January was chosen to honour the memory of the declaration of independence of 1930.The main parade, Republic Day Parade takes place at the Rajpath, in the national capital New Delhi, where the President views the parade, state capitals also have their state celebrations. The parade is followed by a pageant of spectacular displays from the different states of the country. These moving exhibits depict scenes of activities of people in those states and the music and songs of that particular state accompany each display. Misleading Statement of Minister

India is going through the phase of inflation from last year October month onwards and prices’ of all the essential food commodities jumps to many folds gradually from October month onwards and reason keep on giving by agriculture ministry of rising prices’ was shortfall of rain infect lot of parts of country declared draught. Prices’ of vegetables, pulses and rice till date are not under control of government and they are keep on going south end ,nobody knows but is inflation peak point and when they will start falling, but expert believe prices’ of essential food items increases’ in many folds in few month times because instead of importing, relaxing importing terms and taking necessary steps to reduce and fill the gap of demand and supply which created because of draught, Union Agriculture Minister Mr. Shard Pawar while talking to media person said prices’ of essential food commodities will take some time to fall down, his statement become sign to hoarders and black marketers as golden opportunity to earn money and they started hoarding in huge quantity across India which resulting shortage in the market of these commodities and huge gap between demand and supply give direction to surge in prices’. It spoil the budget of common citizen of this country especially such category of consumer who purchase items on daily basis ,as daily use items of kitchen reaches out of the hands of such categories of Indians.
Just fortnight ago Union Agriculture Minister by raising his hands upward on to the control of rising prices’ in a statement said that only astrologers can predicts when price will come down, it shows failure of a minister and his inefficiency in that ministry to run smoothly when he talk or give statement which is by no mean of a intelligent or efficient person, well if he find and get information that country is going to face acute shortage of essential items then instead of disclosing to public through media and invited hoarders and black marketers, should have taken steps by making available these commodities at ease as it was to the citizen of this country in the past. As this was not enough just few days back before the ink dry of his previous statements he gave one more statement relating to milk and said he is under pressure from Milk producer to increase the prices’ of milk because of increasing input cost of milk so milk price is bound to increase. Everybody of this country surprise and shocked with his one more irresponsible statement in media which is from any angle no body can justify the way he is disclosing openly to the media crisis faces by country and his ministry and whom his ministry is responsible to deal with it. The simple reason of this that his statement is creating panic among consumers and citizen of this country and it also giving courage to hoarders and black marketers, along with it question rises’ by giving such irresponsible statements whom he is giving benefits, as just today diary industry declare there is not shortfall of milk production, in the country, yes in the season of autumn flow of milk increase but this year it is not happen and the reason behind this is drought, but categorically deny about shortage of milk in the country. Then who is right and who is wrong it is the matter of probe if minister is wrong then why he is making such statements, either he should be asked to stop giving such horrifying statements in the media or should remove to another ministry as he not efficient for the agriculture ministry.
Every ministry should draw a line not to come up with any statement in media which concerned to welfare of common people of this country and if they are facing any crisis which related directly to public then media is not become their ground to do work but come up with solution more effectively, otherwise they have only five years to run government as failure or successfully, then next term of rule will be decided by public mandate and its ridiculous to believe by working this way they have secure next term also.

IPL: Season III

Here in India when auction process completed, unsold players especially Pakistani started expressing their views through electronics media and it shows that how much desperate Pakistani players to play in Indian Premier League (IPL) not because they love the game of cricket but the huge money they had to earn if any franchise bid for them. IPL is a league which have franchises’ from Indian Film Industries and Industrialists and they acquired teams after paying huge money, so they have every right to run their team as per their necessity and interest so that they earn handsomely on to their money. Pakistani Players blame politics behind their unsuccessful bid but they have to understand if their names fails in auction then they blame their rulers who despite attention by world community on to terrorist infrastructure ,they keep on denying any such existence on to their soil, thus make Pakistan a terrorist hub where any outsider think hundred times to visit. Basant Panchmi !

Today is Basant Panchmi which marks the beginning of the spring season. The festival of spring is celebrated with full vivacity and joy amongst the Hindu people. In Hindi language, the word basant / vasant means spring and panchami means the fifth day. In short, Basant Panchami is celebrated as the fifth day of Spring Season. Vasant Panchami falls on the fifth day of the Indian month, Magh (January-February). It is also known by the names Sree Panchami or Saraswati Panchami. This festival is also known as Saraswati Puja.
The festival of Basant Panchami is dedicated to Saraswati, the Goddess of Wisdom. In the Vedas, Saraswati was a water deity and was revered for purifying, fertilizing and enriching powers. The next stage in Saraswati's mythological history was her identification with the holy rituals performed on the banks of river Saraswati. She is said to have invented Sanskrit, known as the mother of all languages, of scriptures and scholarship. It is also believed that it was her who discovered soma or amrita. According to the Matsya Purana, Saraswati evolved from the mouth of Brahma. Such was her beauty and grace that Brahma pursued her. As she fled in different directions a head appeared and so Brahma is attributed with five heads. She was the most unique creation of Brahma. The moon and the lotus associated with Saraswati are both symbols of eternal womanhood.
  •      Some of the many mythological stories connected with Saraswati have interesting sociological interpretations. The gods and the demons by the mutual agreement decided to churn the ocean for the Amrit or the elixir of life. Mainak Mountain was used as the churning rod and Basuki – a python, as the churning rope. When Lakshmi appeared with the Amrit kumbha both wanted the elixir. Saraswati with her exquisite beauty lured away the asuras or the demons. As the gods were drinking the Amrit, Rahu and Ketu, two asuras saw them and slipped with the Gods. As they drank the Amrit which would make them immoral like the gods, Vishnu detected them. He immediately cut off their heads. The two enraged asuras, swallowed the sun and moon but could not retain them as their throats where cut. This led to the origin of solar and lunar eclipse.
  •     The Aryans fought with the non - Aryan Comi tribe (tribal dominance among the Aryans) like Nished, Sabar and Pulindar on the banks of the river Saraswati. At the request of Vishnu, Saraswati disappeared underground and again reappeared in far of Rajasthan. The tribals were thus deprived of the life - saving water. They were forced to abandon the area. In both cases we see the important of the river Saraswati in Aryan life and how Saraswati was used to deprive the weak of water, without which life is impossible. Saraswati is known as Prithudhar (subjugator of the Aryans).
According to the Hindu mythology, the goddess symbolizes constant flow of knowledge and wisdom. Vasant Panchami is also believed as the birthday of Goddess Saraswati. The spring festival of Basant Panchami is especially celebrated in the institutions of learning. As Saraswati is the goddess of learning, Students observe the blessings from Maa Saraswati. Spring is the season when crops are fully bloomed, so people also celebrate this occasion by flying kites.
Yellow color is given special attention and dominates everywhere on this particular day. Yellow color is associated with Goddess Saraswati as well as the mustard crop. People wear yellow clothes, make yellow color sweets on the day of Saraswati Puja. The Goddess of art, learning, knowledge and wisdom, Maa Saraswati is worshipped with full dedication. On this day, People also feed Brahmans with the feeling that their ancestors are accepting the food. Kite-flying has become the part of this festival and people really enjoy this event.
Basant Panchami is a festival full of religious, seasonal and social significance. It is celebrated by Hindus all over the world with enthusiasm and new sense of optimism.

Chaos: No More

India being democratic country and for people of this country have very good tool in their hands against chaos that is just to strike or protest and often it prove effective whenever anybody use it. Recently in two separate and different occasions concerned raised their voices’ against chaos and went on strike and demonstration and in response to their protest concerned authorities had to bow in front of demonstrators and accept their demands which make the way to end strike and demonstration and life return to normal as it was before -
  •  First incidence related to Indian Hockey team which comes to limelight when Indian Hockey players gathered in Pune for preparation and training for the Hockey world cup which is schedule to happen in India after one month period. Players found right time to criss cross their fingers with administrators for the problems which were ignored by them, so they opted to go on strike instead of present in training as players announced until and unless their dues of payment not cleared by administrators which is delaying on the name of short of funds despite as usual sponsor forward the cheques to the federation worth one crore through three cheques recently, so players said they wont join the training camp. Hockey being national games plus one month time left for big tournament that is world hockey cup and also it is going to held in India all it make crisis/situation out of hand of administrators and two days pass on without any deal between administrators and players and training at camp comes to halt. Seeing all this developments Mr. Ramesh Kalmari head of Indian Olympic Association (IOA) jumped in the ring to settle down the out of control chaos. He met players and promise them if players end their strike and return to camp then within one week time players will get all the residues and demands sorted out, and along with him on his behalf former Indian Hockey player Mr. Dhanraj Pillai also step forward and promise follow of hockey game that with in next one hour he will end this stalemate and both able to get back players on the camp and agreed players to call off their strike, but big question was if Mr.Kalmari will be able to distribute remaining money of players in one week time and after just two days time he personally went to Pune and handover the cheques to the players and now everything is back on track and players are taking part in camp with more enthusiasm, hopefully they will give their best performance in the world cup matches which become source for them to raise their problems.
  • Second chaos in recent time was related to Punjab State Electricity Board(PSEB) as Board has practice to issue electricity bills bi monthly to its customers and to complete this process three persons involve and they are –
  1. One collect the reading
  2. Second prepare bills
  3. Third distribute them to customers
plus one month electricity board employee collect reading of customers and next month electricity board issue bills on that reading which is based on one month old reading, this system is in place from years, but in a move to reduce work load in preparing bills and end gap of one month reading they start issuing bills on the spot with current reading. As per news in Hoshiarpur District of Punjab state customers find lot of discrepancies in their bills as they get bill containing last paid bill by them and when asked from person who handover the bills about this he said do go to electricity office along with paid bill there department will adjust the bill. When contacted with concerned officer he said it is happen only those bills who paid last bill with late fees, but we are closely monitoring to rectify the problem, So this way both chaos are settle down.
To get right or deserving share in democracy one should must opt and raise their voices’ through protest or strike to alert and awaken administrators about their wrong doing practice .

Right now India is in Bangladesh to play two test matches and before the start of series it is consider by the experts that India has very good option to increase the gap of numbers from second rank team that is South Africa, as Bangladesh has not impressive test matches history which also prove when we look the chart of test match ranking where India is number one team and Bangladesh is last in the ranking. One day before the start of first test match that is on 16th January,2010 Mr. Mahender Singh Dhoni was rule out to play the game because of injury and his deputy Mr. Virender Sehwag get chance to lead the team, during press conference same day as it is now also become custom of interaction by media one day before the begin of game with both captains , during press conference on that day Mr.Sehwag declared that Bangladesh is average team and Bangladesh Captain Mushfiqur Rahim also hit back Sehwag by saying no doubt India is number one test team of ICC ranking but Australia and South Africa are better teams from India. Cricket lovers took these views as war of words because to make game exciting and interesting one can often hear from the rival captain such type of statement and thus everything comes to an end as real game has to be played on field rest is recipe to attract crowd.
On 17th Janury,2010 first test match started at Zohur Ahmed Chawdary Stadium,.Chittagong which was test no.1949 of ICC and would be played from 17th January,2010 to 21stJanuary,2010.Bangladesh won the toss and opted to field first. Indian Cricket team management picks all the missiles they had like Sachin Tendulakar, VVS Laxman, Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag to name a few of playing eleven but when first day play end due to bad weather scorecard was disaster for Indian fans as India was 213/8.Had it not been bad weather interruption in the game then it would have been more shameful scorecard? Sachin Tendulakar is still on crease with 76 and other major contribution comes from Captain Mr. Sehwag of 52 runs and rest did nothing with bat. Question rises if it was the out of skin performance of average Bangladeshi Cricket Team ?or it is the over confidence of Indian Cricket team who took lightly/average opposition team ,no Indian fan would ever want to see this scorecard again, but whatever the reason may be if they do practice considering opposition team and there history then it is matter of few days to remain on top because whenever any team get down on filed then they wont in the field merely to play the game but certainly make some plan against good players of opposition team to tackle them effectively.
Four days left for the first test match and to turn table now India need to perform and play with full discipline and every half chance have to grab so that result should be in their favour. Otherwise Mr. Virender Sehwag’s statement of average is ready to be prove Boomerang.

Melbourne: Hell for Indians !

From past few years Indian students find Australia a country where not only they can do higher study but along with it they allowed to do work part time for few hours thus able to earn money and lessen the financial burden on to their parents and after completion of their course/study if they get work in Australia then their visa extended and allowed to do work and chances of permanent settlement in Australia becomes very strong and later on can call their family to join them, this was the picture full of greenery few years back as now it is not as much lucrative as it was.
From last year May month onwards bad phase begin of Indians especially students who reside in Melbourne because brutal attacks on them start taking place by local Australians now it is almost eight months time since attacks started and more then One hundred and fifty Indians become victim of attacks in which some lost their lives, some seriously injured and till date neither Australian authority accepted that these attacks were racial in nature nor they take any strong steps to stop hooligans from attacking on Indian community, and if Federation of Indian Student Association (FISA)try to demonstrate to attract authority to take action against criminals and give Indian students security but they were forcibly pressurize to end their protest by Australian Police authority. Shocking angel of this controversy is that Indian Government till date watching these incidences of attack on Indian silently as this appears because nothing comes out concrete till date but as per Indian Government they are handling diplomatically. Had Indian Government active in any direction then certainly it would have been rosy picture for students until now and it had not taken eight months time of brutal attacks? Comparatively Western countries stand for the safety and life of their countrymen and if they found any suspicion and risk for their citizen they immediately issue advisory not to travel particular place and do their level best to get back them in their home country if they are in trouble and its recent example is America’s former president Mr. Bill Clinton successfully released two American Citizen who were in the custody of North Korea Government ,but despite Indian loosing their lives and not secure in Melbourne, shockingly Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) directed Indian students in wake of these attacks not to protest but to concentrate on to their study but is it possible to focus on study when life is in danger ?
In their damage control initiatives Australian Government offer honourable degree of doctorate to Indian Film Industries Icon Mr.Amitabh Bachchan which Mr. Bachchan deny politely by saying if my countrymen are not safe in their country then I wont accept anything from such country. Now just two days back in an article in Samna by Shiv Sena Chief Mr. Bala Sahib Thackeray wrote that Australian cricket players would not allow to play in Maharashtra as lot of Australian almost 22 players have contract with different Franchisee/teams of Indian Premier League (IPL) whose third season is going to start from this year’s March month, plus just within month period world cup of Hockey is going to start in New Delhi and later on this year in the month of October Common Wealth Games(CWG) schedule to happen in New Delhi and as per news Australia is going to send largest contingent along with their security personnel. Very next day after his article in the newspaper Australian Cricketers Adam Gilchrist and Mathew Hayden while talking to media said they love to play cricket in India and will definitely take part in season three but as per the words of Adam Gilchrist Manager he is closely watching the situation, and media start assuming that Adam Gilchrist might skip this year’s IPL.
It is a good move by the political party of Maharashtra because if our countrymen are not safe and secure in their country then why they should allowed and get best hospitality from our country and as per protocol it is the duty and responsibility of our government to do all the efforts for the safety and security of their countrymen. Now coming time is very crucial and interesting how Australian Government take threat of Mr.Bala Sahib Thackeray and what action they take for the safety of Indians plus which type of strong action they are going to take against criminals? With how much enthusiasm cricketers and sports person of Australia will participate in coming three big Sports Tournaments ?

Inflation !

"Astrologers can predict when prices’ will come down"….Mr. Sharad Pawar (Union Agriculture Minister) ,these were the words coded by him as a statement given to media just two days back, which was enough to horrify citizen of this country as Mr. Sharad Pawar’s ministry deal with essential household food commodities and if head of the ministry raise his hands in pessimist, then perhaps no body can understand common people problems and pull them out from their spoil domestic budget and unfortunately this is the scenario since last year’s September month as every essential commodities prices’ have gone opposite directions five to seven fold without any control of Government machinery –
  • Right now retail price of Sugar is Rs.46 per kg which was before September,2009 around 19 to 21 Rupees per kg and as per common belief it can touch the mark of 55 Rupees per Kg, Sugar is one of the most used ingredient in Indian Kitchen and one cannot imagine Indian kitchen without sugar.
  • Onion is selling at Rupees 23 to 25 per kg in retail whose price in the month of December onwards comes down to Rupees 4 to 6 per kg as fresh crop pouring in the market across India and onion is used almost in every veg and non veg items produce in kitchen.
  • Tomato and Potato are second largest used items after onion in producing vegetables and their prices are also three to four times more then their normal prices’ as fresh crops available in the market.
  •  Infect prices’ of all the vegetables are touching new heights and it is very dismal hope that prices’ will come down in near future.
  • Prices’ of milk touches the mark of 25 rupees per liter and producers are blaming high input cost as reason for increasing price of milk.
  • Rate of some of pulses cross the mark of 100 Rupees per kg which were selling usually at Rs.40 to 50.
Problem of consumer is that their leaders are passing the blame game to other parties despite ruling in the state or centre but doing nothing to give relief to the citizen from the phase of increasing prices’, thus escaping from their responsibilities, but yesterday Prime Minister host the meeting which was attended by lot of minister of cabinet including Agriculture Minster to handle the crisis of increasing prices’ of essential commodities and soon prime minister is going to chair meeting of states chief ministers, it is believe that in coming days people will get relief from inflation. A special cabinet committee on Wednesday approved more duty-free imports of sugar, called for the release up to 3 million tons of government-stockpiled wheat and rice into the market and ramped up distribution of subsidized food. The central government is also asking state leaders to prevent hoarding of essential commodities and to cut food taxes
Our leaders should understand that they are public servants and they become minister with the votes of countrymen and this period use to come after every five years but because our leaders who rule do nothing for their respective constituencies and for the development of people, ignore their problems first four years of their rule but when their rule entered in the fifth and last year then they keep themselves busy in announcing and implementing populist schemes through newspapers and electronics media by using tax payers money which suppose to be used for public welfare, but their efforts to attract voters and secure next five years some times voters trapped in their leaders offering and give them second terms but often voters give chance to other party to govern state or country and ruling party declared this change as anti incumbency factor of their defeat but never accept defeat because of their distance from common people.

Lohri Festival

Today is Lohri festival and it is celebrate in northern part of India especially in Punjab with great zeal and zest. The origin of the Lohri can be traced back to the tale of Dulla Bhatti. By the end of the first week of January, small groups of boys ring the doorbell of houses and start chanting the Lohri songs related to Dulla Bhatti. In turn, the people give them popcorn, peanuts, crystal sugar, sesame seeds (til) or gur as well as money. Turning them back empty-handed is regarded inauspicious.
Lohri marks the end of winter on the last day of Paush, and beginning of Magha (around January 12 and 13), when the sun changes its course. It is associated with the worship of the sun and fire and is observed by all communities with different names, as Lohri is an exclusively Punjabi festival.
From where Lohri word came it is believe that it comes from Loi the name of Sant Kabir’s wife, as rural people in Punjab pronounce it as Lohi. Others believe that Lohri is derived from the word ‘loh’, which refers to a thick iron-coated tawa on which chapattis are cooked. According to another legend, Lohri and Holika were sisters among whom Holika was burnt in the fire and Lohri survived. Further, consuming til (sesame seeds) and rorhi (jaggery) is considered auspicious in this festival. So, the names of these tow items til and rorhi might have been combined to form tilorhi that must have been abbreviated to Lohri.
Lot of legends related to Lohri Festival found in the history books and below are well known as large number of believer of these legends –
  • One of the interesting legends that lies between Gujaranwala and Sialkot, there was a thick forest known as rakh. The forest was the home of Dulla Bhatti, a dacoit who was considered as the Robin Hood of Punjab. This brave and generous man was always helpful to the needy. During the reign of Mughal Emperor Jahangir, a jealous Hindu spread a rumour that his niece was very beautiful and would do credit to the Muslim harem. On hearing this, the Mughal officers wanted to carry her forcibly. The girl’s father was extremely worried and sought the protection of Dulla Bhatti. Dulla at once got her married as a young Hindu boy at a simple ceremony in the forest. He lit the sacred fire in keeping with the Hindu custom. Since there was no priest to chant the holy mantras, he broke into a hilarious song composed extempore to add cheer to the occasion. This song is sung even today on the occasion -
Sunder mundriye ho! Tera kaun vicaharaa ho! Dullah bhatti walla ho!
Dullhe di dhee vyayae ho! Ser shakkar payee ho! Kudi da laal pathaka ho!
Kudi da saalu paatta ho! Salu kaun samete! Chache choori kutti! zamidara lutti!
Zamindaar sudhaye! bade bhole aaye! Ek bhola reh gaya!
Sipahee pakad ke lai gaya! Sipahee ne mari eet!
Sanoo de de lohri te teri jeeve jodi! Paheenve ro te phannve pit!
  • Few days before Lohri, a bevy of village maidens assemble and visit the households to ask cow-dung cake. The girls gather round the house and chant: We've come, all the girls of the village! We've come to your courtyard! And so they go from house to house collecting cow-dung cakes till they have a veritable pile. They deposit all of them in one house and return to their homes. Their is a valid reason for girls to perform this ritual.Lohri is celebrated on the last day of the month of Pans to mark the end of winter. It is said that the forefathers formulated a sacred mantra which protected them from the cold. This mantra invoked the Sun God to send them so much heat that the winter cold would not affect them. And, in thanks-giving to the Sun God, they chanted this mantra round a fire on the last day of Pans. The Lohri fire is symbolic of the homage to the sun. A song is sung on this occasion:-
"Where have the shawls and braziers gone?
To the golden mountain Where's the golden mountain gone?
To the sun's ray Where has the sun's ray gone?
To the sun Where's the sun gone?
To the fire The fire burns, the ray warms
The snows melt, the cold days have ended."
Our ancients believed that the flames of the fires they lit took their message to the sun, and that is why on the morning after Lohri, which is the first of the new month Magh, the sun's rays suddenly turn warm and take the chill out of people’s bones.
  • There is also another version of Lohri. In ancient times, human beings lit fires to keep away flesh-eating animals and protect their habitations. Everyone contributed to this communal fire, for which young boys and girls collected firewood from the jungle. That is why even today when people burn cow-dung cakes it is teenagers who go around collecting them. The Lohri bonfire is symbolic of our old method of protecting ourselves as well as a form of fire worship. It is to the Lohri fire that couples pray for more children and parents for husbands for their unmarried daughters.
Celebration of Lohri
Ceremonies that go with the festival of Lohri usually comprises of making a small image of the Lohri goddess with gobar (cattle dung), decorating it, kindling a fire beneath it and chanting its praises. The final ceremony is to light a large bonfire at sunset, toss sesame seeds, gur, sugar-candy and rewaries in it, sit round it, sing, dance till the fire dies out. People take dying embers of the fire to their homes. In Punjabi village homes, fire is kept going round the clock by use of cow-dung cakes.
As with passing time lot of changes’ can be seen in celebrating every festival of India and Lohri is not exception of this, but still traditional celebration of Lohri found in rural part of villages’.

Sankata Chaturthi !

Indian ladies especially mothers throughout year on different occasions observe fast for the prosperity of the their families, long lives of their husbands and prosperity and healthy lives of their sons' and to name these days/festivals Karva Chauth, Ahoi Ashtami and Sankat Chaturthi and today is one of these category festival by name Sankat Chaturthi fast.
This day falls on the fourth day of the dark half of Magha (Jan -Feb). Many accounts hold this tithi to be the birthday of Lord Ganesh. On this day of Lord Ganesh. On this day fast (Varta) is observed in the honour of Ganesh and it ensures wisdom, trouble-free life and prosperity. It is also called 'Sankat Chauth'. There is folk-tale related to this festival. This story is related by ladies among themselves on Sakat (Sankat) - Chauth day in the evening. It highlights the importance of sesame (til seeds) on this day.
  • Legend of Sankata Chaturthi - There was an old lady who used to keep 'Sakat-Chaturthi' (Sankata Chaturthi) fast. It is due to this fast that everything was in order in this house with the grace of Lord Ganesh. The neighbors as usual - were jealous of her house's prosperity. A lady in the neighborhood poisoned the ears of the old lady's son. She said to the old lady's son: "You always labour hard in the fields and get so little to eat. But your mother enjoys the best of food on the pretext of her observance of fast." The old-lady, unmindful of this vicious brainwashing-campaign started by her neighbours kept her fast as usual when Sankat Chauth fell next. In the evening, she cooked sweet Pakoras (Gulgulas) for her exclusive consumption apart from other things. She was about to break her fast when her son returned from the fields. He said to his mother “Our neighbours are right. That lady confided in me the pretext you employ to eat choicest food items. While you offer me only dry bread! Now I should not stay with you. I shall leave this home for ever. Puzzled and dismayed, the old lady said: "My dear son, I keep these fasts only for your well-being. Don't leave me alone in this old age." But her son would not listen to her. As he was determined to leave home, the old lady finally said "Do as you like. But do me one last favour. Take these til seeds with you. Sprinkle them around you whenever you sense any danger." Accepting his mother's advice the son moved on, leaving the house. Soon he reached a vast wilderness on the way. To his great consternation he spotted a lion standing close by. The son remembered his mother's advice and took out some of the til seeds and sprinkled them around him, saying in his mind lf my mother took her fasts for my well being, move the lion should away from my sight, the lion soon went away. And the son carried on his journey. He thought that it was by chance that the lion had moved away. Then he came before a swollen river obstructing his way. He wanted to cross it. Again he sprinkled the sesame seeds around him and said in his mind: "If my mother took her fasts for my well being the river should give way to me:' And suddenly he found the river's waters receding. The boy heaved a sigh of relief. But he thought, again it was a sheer chance that the river had receded to give him way. Continuing his journey, he felt now hungry and thirsty. Spotting a hut nearby he went inside it. There he found an old woman. She was cooking 'Puras' (sweet cakes) and was weeping bitterly. He said "O old lady, why are you crying?" The lady replied "For no particular reason." But the boy persisted with his query as he wanted to know the truth. Then that old lady confided in him "The king needs sacrifice for his furnace. It is now my son's turn. I am preparing best dishes for him." The boy said : "I am also hungry. You feed me with this food. I shall offer myself for the sacrifice in place of your son." The lady said "0 dear boy, you do take this food to fill your hungry. But how can I force someone else's son for this sacrifice just in exchange of little food. I am not that selfish." The boy enjoyed the food and had a sound sleep. Next morning, the King's messenger knocked at old lady's door and asked for her son. The old lady could not dare awaken the boy. She shuffled the utensils deliberately again and again to break his sleep. At last the boy got up and said: "What's the matter ?" The old lady said: "The king's messengers have come." The boy accompanied the messengers. At King's place, they made him sit on a platform and asked him to get into a big pot. Other pots were arranged in the form of a furnace and the furnace was set on fire. The boy felt the heat. He also sensed danger to his life. He then, remembered his mother's words. He took out the 'til' seeds and sprinkling them around him, again said in his mind. "If my mother took her fasts for my well-being let the fire spare my life." Normally it used to take the furnace six months to get ready. Strangely the king felt the necessity for some pots just after three days. He asked the potter for some pots. He went near the furnace. To his great surprise, he found all the pots ready for use. The potter informed the king about the strange happening. The king then came close to the furnace along with his courtiers and ordered that all pots be removed. When the men were about to remove the last pot, they heard a sound which said : "Please remove this pot gently." All the men, there, were frightened. The last pot was removed gently. To their great surprise, the boy was sitting in it safe and in a. meditative posture. The til seeds around him had sprouted. Coming out of the pot the boy told the whole story which made the king stop the practice of human sacrifice and ordered his subjects to keep fast on all the fourth days of the waning moon. He then married off his daughter to the boy. When the boy was returning home with his bride, the neighbor saw the couple. She went to that old lady whose son that boy was, and said : "Your son is coming with a beautiful bride. He has a cartload of wealth. You receive them at the door." The old lady said : "You were responsible for my son's going into exile. Don't ever pollute anyone's mind like you polluted my son's mind. It does good to no one." In the mean time the royal couple (the boy with his bride, the royal princess) reached home and both of them touched the old lady's feet who ever kept fast for his son's well being.
Moral :- Besides stressing on the need for keeping fast on this pious day it also warns against jealousy felt by the people at their neighbor's peace and prosperity. Lord Ganesh is said to be the Lord who can remove all obstructions from one's path to success. Hence his worship on Sankat Chauth.
It is believed that keeping fast on this day ensures trouble less rest of the year for the  performer. May Lord Ganesh shed his benign grace on every one .

Regression Therapy !

Human are full of unresolved mysteries for scientists till date, despite countless research on them still lot of layers are yet to be removed which give feel that we are where we were as far human related issues’ are concern. Despite born from same parents and upbringing in same atmosphere still there is lot of difference between children of a family namely physique, colour, height, education, nature and career wise and to differentiate exactly the reason behind this, it comes under the domain of scientists. It is commonly believe that human mind is the most complex part of body and it is never ever used hundred percent by any human beings but as per research on an average it is merely three to five percent utilized by human beings. Mind control and govern the body as every part react immediately after getting signals and direction from mind. Our mind can be divided further into three sub categories –
  • Conscious Mind - It is active, control and use by person when he is awaking and physically active.
  • Sub Conscious Mind - It is the mind when human beings are not active like sleeping then in dreams one visit, see, experience different visions are because of sub conscious mind.
  • Super Sub Conscious Mind - It is the treasure vault of human beings which store almost every incidence of previous lives but it is not possible for every human to control, read and decode it as it need special skills, study, preceptor, devotion, training to become master and sometimes when a person get skill/power then lack of good preceptor/master it can be harmful and dangerous as it can disturb normal functioning of mind.
So one can say human assets is mind and good, sound and positive mind is boon for society and negative, disturbing and bad mind is bane for society and it’s atmosphere. Some life born with extra ordinary mind which at very tender age start showing wonderful stuff and often people calling it God gifted but some person carry on phobia, disease which in medical term incurable but it can be possible to heal or give relief to person through hypnotism or regression therapy. Expert of Regression therapy takes concerned person to his previous life which becomes reason of phobia or disease in current life.
  • Regression Therapy  – Regression therapy is a therapeutic process that uses one’s earlier life experiences as source material to resolve current problems. This concept is similar to psychodynamic therapy. However, regression therapy is more solution-focused, whereas psychodynamic therapy is more interested in the process and the experience. Past life therapy encompasses all the same techniques and theories as regression therapy, however, the boundaries are lifted from the conscious mind, enabling the client to explore a past-life.
  • How It Work –The technique used during past life regression involves the subject answering a series of questions while hypnotized to reveal identity and events of alleged past lives, a method similar to that used in recovered memory therapy and one that similarly misrepresents memory as a faithful recording of previous events rather than a constructed set of recollections. The use of hypnosis and suggestive questions makes the subject particularly likely to hold distorted or false memories. The source of the memories is more likely cryptomnesia and confabulations that combine past experiences, knowledge, imagination and suggestion or guidance from the hypnotist than recall of a previous existence. Once created, the memories are indistinguishable from memories based on events that occurred during the subject's life. In a regression session, the client is gently and safely guided back in time to the event/events which have led to their current complaint. Upon the acknowledgement of the event clients can release the long held memory, bring to the conscious level the occurrence and heal the triggering ailment at the core level....the cellular memory level.
Now a days it can be understand by any Indians as one of the programme related to this therapy is being telecast on NDTV Imagine Channel.
