In the history books countless stories and legends are available and every story and legends claims that Raksha Bandhan started from them onwards, so instead of indulging in the controversy of when it started, we should enjoy the festival with its spirits. Increase Storing Capacity or Distribute!

Democratic structure stands on four pillars -
  • Judiciary
  • Legislature
  • Executive
  • Media
and every pillar should be strongly efficient for happy and prosperous nation, but lack of any pillar’s support make democracy existence awkwardly and need clutches of other pillar’s. Indian democracy’s two pillars are not functioning at its own, thus from time to time remaining two pillars Judiciary and Media are executing responsibilities of non active pillars. It is Government liabilities to take care of their assets and they should not be ruined due to any reason man made or natural.
Country like India where countless people have not access to full stomach two times quality food and they are spending lives partly filled tummy, and Government of India is not stepping ahead to help them to come out from trap of hunger and adding insult to injury let wheat or other eatable food items ruined in there godowns which then by no mean good for any living beings to use. Then come up with excuses’ like it is not first time that eatable food items were rotten in government warehouses’ and it is happening from past many years, it is ridiculous and irresponsible statements which cannot be digest easily by anybody.
From past few months news is keep on becoming highlight in the media of wastage of wheat in the government godowns, courtesy RTI act, in multi metric tones, but Food and Agriculture Minister Mr. Sharad Pawar in the parliament upper house during question hours reply to a question that he will take action against tainted officers but his action not go beyond these words as nothing comes up conclusive or concrete to punish the tainted officers and also to save valuable wheat in the godowns of government.. This story is keep on happening in the country every year as Government of India has not proper storing facilities and procured eatable food items lies open under the sky with plastic cover sheets and to waste it just one light rainfall is enough.
Taking notice of both the situation Supreme Court of India order Central Government that no single piece of grain should be rotten in the warehouses’ of government, in case government is unable to take care of eatable food items then it should be distributed among poor people of country free of cost as lot of people have not access to quality food twice a day to full stomach. It means countrymen are bearing double flog one by priceless food items are keep on rotting in the government warehouses’ secondly countless citizen living lives with limited access to food items.
One day after Supreme Court directive comes to government of India on rotting of wheat, Food and Agriculture Minster Mr. Sharad Pawar said Government is in process to erect warehouses across country. Replying answer on to question in the parliament he said Food Corporation of India has taken responsibilities for erecting godowns and going to issue tenders, he also added we are taking necessity steps to stop food items being ruined, as his ministry, is in dialogue with different states government to make arrangement of land to erect godowns.
Hopefully either government of India will make sufficient and proper arrangements to save grain wasted in their godowns or will consider honestly to distribute grain among poor people in case it found patches or holes in its storing facilities but both way it will help country to save priceless food items turning into rot and thus wastage of wheat will be story of history.

Compensation to Air Travelers

We are in the era of competition and jet age, everybody has very few alternatives to reschedule there appointments and due to tight schedule sometimes bad weather, natural calamities or technical problems become reasons of heavy financial and unbearable losses to a group, company or individual. Although one cannot do anything if problem created due to reasons whom one cannot averted but if it is created intentionally and then drag or delay or professional benefits involve then it is certainly a matter of concern to the authorities / regulators to get rid on it and tainted or responsible person/group/service provider should be entitle for slap with fine, so that it give some relief to the sufferer as he was not responsible but service provider should be blame purely.
Almost every sector in India in which government is giving services’ along with private players, have regulators with whom one can lodge his/her complaints like Banks, Electricity department, Insurance, Cable and Telecommunications and consumer courts to name a few, which create for the help and benefits of consumers to avoid any company may not exploits/misuse false marketing terms.
One of the sector which is touching new heights and helping corporate executives is Aviation and MNC’s directors to visit their offices spread in different part of countries, thus there schedule is always tight but sometimes airlines cancel there flights by one reason or another at very last moment, like –
  • Bad / severe weather
  • Airlines Technical problem
  • Telephone call of Bomb/ Hijack
  • Strike by staff
certainly one cannot do anything if flight cancel due to bad weather or call of bomb. Director General of Civil Aviation makes it mandatory for Airlines to compensate travelers. In cases when in spite of having air tickets not allowed to sit in plane. Director General of Civil Aviation issue terms for Airlines to compensate travelers, if –
  • Flight delay
  • Flight Cancel
  • Despite having ticket not allowed to enter plane
but Airlines exempted to compensate travelers if flight delay or cancel due to reason for whom they are not responsible or have no control. In the past news often came from passengers of Budget (Economy) Airlines that they were not allowed to enter in the plane or there flight delay last moment when they reach airport and don’t know when it will take off or cancel the flight, but it often related to budget airlines (low cost) airlines, now they cannot even think to harass traveler by such way and have to re think lot of time to reschedule flight.

Salary and Perks hike in backburner?

Members of both houses' who were waiting and hoping that during current session of parliament bill will be present in the house of Salary and perks hike of the members, will be sadden to know that cabinet does not give its nod to the bill so it will drag further and it wont be present in the current session so they have to wait for some more time for their pockets to be heavier until bill will be present in the house, and no obstacles will comes in its way to get through without any debate or objection or uproar or walk out or disrupt of house because it is related to the members themselves which is going to inflate there pockets many folds. Joint Parliament committee, in which it recommended for Parliament members Salary and Perks hikes are –
  • Salary from present 16,000 rupees per month to 34,000 rupees per month
  • Daily allowances from 1,000 rupees per month to 2,000 rupees per month which they will get on attending parliament session
  • Constituency area allowance increase from present 20,000 rupees per month to 40,000 rupees per month
  • Office allowances from present 20,000 rupees per month to 34,000 rupees per month.
Members are getting salary and perks without performance like –
  • Whether they attend parliament or not?
  • Whether they are corrupt or honest?
  • Whether they are rich or poor thus deserve or not?
  • Whether they involve in disrupting the parliament session?
as every where in the world and every professions are on performance based. Then they are entitle for promotion, hikes and incentives depending upon there performance and results, but parliament members as per I know is the only profession which grant literately to its members whether they deserve or not salary and other benefits without accountability. As per reports cabinet defer it because of anger among people due to daily news of irregularities in awarding the different contracts and as per assessment many fold crore of rupees become part of scam and large scale funds are misused. Members believe they deserve salary and perks hikes because they are superior from secretaries who are getting right now 80,000 rupees per months and they are getting merely 16,000 rupees, which mean that they are five fold inferior from the secretaries as far salary is concern..
Representatives of public are worried and united when time comes for their interests but when they have to debate for public or country then they always have different opinion, disrupt the house, stage walk out and its example is first week of current parliament session when even single minute of work was not done, and still no action was taken against anybody, why not they apply universal tag
                                          No    work    no     pay

Why not they ever united for common people and for country? I think they should be monitor by some another autonomous authority and based on their performance they should get salary and perks hikes? As if somebody has power in his/ her hands to pat on their back then no body I this world would like to miss it , irrespective of it they deserve or not.
As per news just yesterday during parliament proceedings 400 member of parliament united and raise their voices for the bill of salary and perks hikes which was defer by cabinet and in response Finance minister assured them that it will be tabled during this session and salary hikes would be from present rupees 16,000 to 50,000 rupees and that’s going to be implement without any debate and no members or party will stand in between it as it will make their pockets thick.

Polymer Currency in the Offerings?

From past few years India is facing huge influx of counterfeit currency across neighbouring country and it is so much identical to original that to differentiate between fake and genuine is not easy task for common people from whose hands on daily basis multi billion rupees change hands. Counterfeit Indian currency’s main producer and supplier is Pakistan, who is at proxy war with India from all fronts like economy wise, pushing terrorism, border conflicts, Kashmir issue and drugs supply to name a few here. Government of India despite all its sincere efforts unable to stop inflow and existence of counterfeit currency from the Indian markets.
In a move to topple counterfeit notes Reserve Bank of India (R.B.I.) announced that till the end of 2010 it is going to issue rupees 10 polymer(plastic) note as pilot project and based on its success later on will introduce 20,50 and 100 denominations polymer notes. With the introduction of Polymer currency it will serve two purposes first to produce fake polymer notes its very complex and costly process, secondly polymer currency has life of four years as compare to soil notes which has life of one year and even during one year period it become dirty and torn, but polymer notes are washable also. Australia was the first country to go in for plastic notes way back in 1988. According to reports, the country finished converting all its currency notes into plastic in 1996. Other countries that have followed Australia's example and have introduced plastic currency notes include Brazil, Sri Lanka, Romania, New Zealand, and Northern Ireland. The bank has initially decided to introduce 1 billion of 10 rupees polymer notes, for which it has floated a global tender. Plastic currency notes has several advantages over paper notes like paper notes are cellulose in nature and they develop microbes when they get soiled and thus can be a cause of diseases. Moreover, they get mutilated with time and have to be destroyed. "The RBI destroys thousands of currency notes every day". Plastic notes, on the other hand, are non-cellulose in nature and thus cannot lead to the growth of microbes. If they become dirty they can simply be wiped or washed. "There is no danger of the notes getting destroyed by water.
Success of Polymer notes will help India to get rid on the fake currency problem as with every passing time it is on increasing side secondly it will expand the life of notes from one year to four years and later on will be of three more denominations of 20,50 and 100.

Adulteration: Government Flog

In the country rise and access of electronics media help to highlights and eradicate social sins from society, but despite in depth coverage and scores of sting operations by different news channels on to adulteration / synthetic food items, Government of India keep on ignoring these revelations of adulteration by avoiding issuing press statements or making stringent law. As in the country for adulteration in the eatable food items there is provision of six months of jail and rupees 1,000 fine for tainted persons, that is why inhumane, money minded traders making fun of law by indulging in anti human trade practice without having any fear in mind and heart that they are passing on to society slow poison. In the country synthetic milk; adulterated spices’, pulses; chemically produced fruits and vegetables which are hazardous to intake by human beings in spite of knowing this they are throwing in the market and passing deadly diseases’ to the countrymen. Due to adulteration there was uproar in the market by public for tough law against these traders for almost more then year now, but unfortunately nothing produce desire results and relief to the general public of this country.
Just recently, Indian National Congress M.P. Mr. Rajiv Shukla raises’ the issue of adulteration in the eatable food items, in the upper house of the parliament that is Rajya Sabha, “ I prefer to take tea from the canteens of parliament without having milk in it, as I am not hundred percent sure that food items supply to the parliament canteens by the supplier had gone for test in the laboratory of adulteration and pollution. The day issue rose in by a member government release order to food inspector for probe not only to took sample of food items supply to canteens of parliament but also probe on frequent basis of food items. Mr. Shukla also admits that government agrees to increase the punishment amount and jail from present rupees 1,000 and six months jail to tainted person of adulteration in food items to life imprisonment and fine of rupees one million. Well it is the tragedy that representatives of the country never listen to voices’ of adulteration which were playing with the health and lives of general public of India through synthetic milk, chemically produced fruits and vegetables until and unless its heat reaches their doorsteps, and the moment they were skeptical they immediately ordered to check the quality of the food items supply to the parliaments canteens but also agree to impose law for persons doing adulteration /synthetic trade practice to fine of rupees one million and sentence of life imprisonment. For general public it is sigh of relief that at least their law maker wake up so what after feeling the heat of adulteration when it started roaring at their premises and agree to increase the punishment on both front period and amount wise. Now it will certainly create panic and fear in the heart and mind of inhumane and corrupt mind traders which are involve in this trade will be behind bars for life along with fine of one million rupees.
Now in the coming day’s food items which become havoc in the heart and mind of general public to use without whom one cannot even imagine of Indian cuisine like milk, vegetables, pulses’, spices’ and fruits without adulteration, now can use them without having fear in mind that it can be synthetic or contains dangerous chemicals or substandard in quality which can harm the health or leads to death.

Random Inspection

In India lot of major departments are still under government domain, they suppose to give best services’ to the public without any inconvenience but often it has seen that government department officers harass common people either they skip to available on there seats or keep on pretending or exploit them, departments like Police, Health, education, electricity, administration, local bodies with whom on an average once a day common people have to deal , but government officers’ nature of delaying always frustrated general public and tragedy with them that they have not facility to lodge there complaints of concerned officers in that department to its highest authority and by some how if they succeed to registered there complaints then it is not treated properly and immediately, thus become part of dust bin, but public keep on suffering ,that is why they avoid to visit any government office but because to proceed there case further it is mandatory for them to move ahead through proper channel. This is not the picture of any particular state but across India almost every state in the government office scenario is same, so it is for ruling party leaders to check randomly government departments with whom public has to deal often and so that they get there work done without any problem. This way it will make every officer to remain on to his seat and deal firmly with the complaints and problem of general public.
As per news Punjab State deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal in recent time just visited suddenly some offices of Police and Electricity department in Bhathinda district and spotted irregularities in their work. To provide hassle free services’ to the residents of state in the future Mr. Badal has plan to visit randomly government departments of major cities of Punjab like Jalandhar, Amritsar , Ludhiana and Patiala so that it help general public to get there work done in routine and hassle free. As per information checking in above coded cities can be happen in near future but secretly, so that it may not alert concerned cities government offices’. In recent time government is receiving complaints from different part of state that some government department officers are not cooperating them at the time of complaints, either they skip from there seats or ignore there complaints or listen with deaf ears mean because they never ever take immediate desire action. Draft has been prepared how to act on the plan by Mr. Badal’s department and in near future news can come of his checking/ raids in the government offices’. Well if he visit or not government offices’ in the above coded cities but it will now put pressure on to the government officers to sort out the problems of general public on priority basis, problem is that despite having complaints register it take months which certainly give wind to corruption and it encourages role of agents to get work done by general public of state.
To improve the image, efficiency, corruption free and end the fear in the heart and mind of public and put fear in the mind of government officers it will make them to provide good services, which is possible by such visits by highest authorities in the government offices or government can create a department which deal with the problems of public without any bias, it should not be limited to any one state but all the states in country should follow it, so that public can say proudly that –
Democracy is of the people, by the people and for the people
and they visit any government office with ease and proud.

Electricity Board v/s Corporation: Which is Best?

Punjab State for more then one and half decades reeling under severe power shortage and erstwhile State Electricity Board was meeting the demand through power cuts and not tried to expand power generation, thus in the summer season it was very chaotic situation in the state as far electricity supply was concern and outside temperature was increasing every year, tragedy was that which ever government rule in the state they pass on the buck to the previous government of shortage of power that they did nothing to increase the power generation, but ultimately sufferer was average citizen of the state and shopkeepers whose business were based on electricity like photo studios, Photostats, and computer cafes. Power cuts increase the price of their services’. Worst part of this story was last two years when state electricity board was unable to meet the demand even in winter season and had passed the time with five to six hour power cuts across state. Business was going downwards, industrialists were very much vocal as competition from other states ruined there business and state government was imposing new taxes to have their coffer with sufficient money., so once the most prosperous and wealthy state of the country Punjab left far behind from other neighbour states and prosperous crown pass on to other state.
This year on 15th April was the deadline for state government to take decision whether they want further extension to break the State board into two corporation or dismantle the board, before one week of 15th April it was appearing that state government will further request for extension, but just three days before the deadline speculation was in the air that state government has taken decision to dismantle Punjab State Electricity Board into two corporations –
  • Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PowerCom )
  • Power State Transmission Corporation Limited (TransCo)
to meet the agitation from employees unions of board and farmer unions, state government issue order that any damage to the property of the government would be crime and it will have to be bear by the concern, but after just two days of strike employees came back to work after getting assurances from the state government that no employee of erstwhile board will be sacked and will be adjusted in the corporation plus there benefits will be continue as they were at the time of board. Gradually in the span of just two to three weeks condition of power supply started improving and uninterrupted power supply given by power com across state in the month of may and mid June, when demand of power rises sharply and that was also without erecting any power plants in the state. Every category of consumer was happy with the inception of corporation and started believing that black days of power cuts are over now and they are the story of past that Punjab state has ever power cuts.
On 15th June Powercom announced power cuts of four hours in a day because of paddy season and power com request the consumers to corporate with them, but the process of power cuts once started till date in the second week of august its continue, which was through press note declared in the beginning only till 15th July, and despite good rain during rainy season still power cuts are face by residents. It has refresh the memory of Punjab State Electricity Board when they pretend with one reason or another and keep on releasing press statement in the newspaper about power cuts –
  • Increase in demand they are applying power cuts
  • Shortage of rain making them to apply power cuts
  • Rise in demand forcing them to clamp power cuts
Hopefully very soon Powercom will come out from the crises and give relief to the residents of state by supplying uninterrupted power which on ground can be possible if they wish as they had provided 24 x 7 power for two months in the state when state board was dismantle, only if they will.

Spurious Drugs

Human body needs pure water, oxygen and food for long and healthy life & in case due to some reasons or change in weather if it become victim of any disease then need quality but genuine medicine, but unfortunately very large percentage in Indian population have no access to pure water nor eatable pure food stuff and add insult to injury even genuine drugs. As per survey in India twenty to twenty five percent drugs sold are spurious, which instead of helping patients to gain health become reason of deteriorating his/her physical conditions further. Question rises here why spurious, inhumane and money minded traders have no fear of law and authorities whether they are doing business of water, food or drugs which are substandard, adulterated and synthetic? Then its simple and straight forward answer is that lack of stringent law and corrupt bureaucrats nexus make these traders to do their business without any problem. If some traders apprehended and punish heavily then it will be lesson to others and they won’t dare even in their dreams to do inhumane trade in the country. It is lack of Government will that these traders are doing business under there nose across country.
Media is exposing on fortnight basis on an average spurious items sold in the country and government machinery appears jam and rusty to take action against them rather they watch these horrifying revelation with close eyes and ears, leaving innocent countrymen on to the mercy of their luck and God, but it is the hard fact that spurious market is making Indian hollow.
In a shocking revelation of survey, Indian drugs market is worth Rs.50 billion and approximately twenty five percent share is of spurious drugs and it included low and substandard contents drugs and expiry drugs which sent back to market after changing dates, and drugs taken by a patient either low in content or expiry dates are dangerous and even kill a patient. Sometimes back a news channel invited C.E.O. of famous and well known pharmaceutical company in its studio and put in front of him lot of his company drugs which were mix of spurious and genuine and asked him to trace his company drugs and fake one, after full concentration and thoroughly watching he failed to recognize his company’s genuine drugs and fake one, his remarks was that fake and genuine are so much identical in packaging that it is hard to differentiate them. So if a Company C.E.O. was unable to separate fake and genuine then it is ridiculous to hope that common citizen can trace and avoid from this spurious drugs trade. Its not that government has no information that in the market spurious drugs selling are common practice. Even in the country right now only seven labs are available for testing which is by no mean are enough for country like India. Spurious drugs are sold mainly in the remote areas of rural market. Experts points fingers towards well known companies most saleable brands which are copy by spurious drug traders because it give them hefty profits and so these drugs has very short life at the shelves of chemists., even chemists can also be blamed as they put anything forward by distributors without bothering to cross examine if the forward are genuine or fake. So to avoid becoming part of this market some vigilance required when ever somebody needs medicines like –
  • Check lot batch number of medicines
  • Always ask for bill
  • Always purchased drugs from registered and known chemists.
It is the tragedy with Indians that despite having government machinery in place and spending money they need to be vigilant to scrutnise whatever medicines they are taking is original or fake. For a patient who has minor problem/disease fake drugs will not effect severely but if patient is in serious or critical condition then these spurious drugs can be prove life threatening.

Appreciation

In this world to achieve any goal in life whether it is in the filed of education or sports or career top most mantra for success is hard work and focus on to the target and if at other end it is welcome with some additional incentive then it boost aspirants to put all his /her efforts so that whenever it is over then along with he/she get bonus. It is tradition in private educational institutes and private business houses’ to lure their students or employees with additional incentive other then usual perks, which with some additional financial burden on to employer it get from employee astounding results which certainly in normal environment hard to come out. This type of working atmosphere exit only in private category of business but just recently Punjab Government tear the leaf from the books of private business establishments and release the order to all the government head of institutions and district education authorities to appreciate brilliant students.

Education department of Punjab has unique plan to appreciate brilliant students who will give extra ordinary performance in the field of education, sports or extra curricular activities, to boost there moral and appreciate there efforts now these categories of students name will be written on the board by concerned school of every government school across state under title “Shinning Star of School” and this directive is release to every government school Principal and education officers, as it tradition in private school whenever their school students achieve extra ordinary mileage in any field like education, sports or extra curricular activities then management tap on the back of student by highlighting it, contrary to this in government school till date any achievements was not applaud by school head which make the student frustrated, that after hard work he left behind his mates but it was receive with cool response rather numb hands by higher authorities. Director General of School Education Mr. Krishan Kumar in a move to facelift the cool tradition in government school pass on directive to all the government school of the state to install a board in there premises in which past and present brilliant students of schools mentioned achievements/milestones under the title “Shining Star of School” and it will be applaud to there extra ordinary achievements from our side. As per words of Mr. Krishan Kumar achievements of students in the field of sports, technical educations, politics, social services’ and cultural can be highlighted and other then this achievements in U.P.S.C., I.I.T. or I.I.M. exams by students they can also be included in this list.
With this initiatives across state in government educational institutions it will applaud to the hard work, achievements and milestones of brilliant students but along with it will give identity and publicity to the concern school that achiever of today was the Alma meter of school and it will motivate students of school to achieve in there goal and nobody need to claims it through the history books that achiever was student of school.

Wastage of Wheat

India is one of the biggest producers of wheat in the world. It is tragedy that countless people in the country have not access of full tummy two times food in a day and more shocking is that wheat is ruined in the government godowns due to lack of proper storing facilities. It is the responsibilities of the government to use its assets in right manner and take care of its citizen, but governments first let its valuable assets waste then smartly passes on buck to others and escape to accept that it has fail to utilise it valuable assets properly. It is really a shame rather crime in country like India if food items rotten in the government warehouses’ not in kilos but in tons which later on not good for any living beings to use. Considering this Supreme Court of India pass on directive to Central Government to take care of every food grain and if they have not proper arrangements to store them, then it should be release to the poor people of the country but it should not be ruined. If we go through the stats available in the country courtesy Right to Information Act food items rotten in the government warehouses’ in last five years then it will shake badly that how much Food Corporation of India’s officials are careless and despite knowing that wheat or rice in open will rotten with little spell of rain and why not they inform higher or concerned authorities to take care of food items, but after the news broken of their negligence then they starts blaming game, even Food and Agriculture Minister of country Mr. Sharad Pawar instead of taking action against the tainted officials and taking responsibilities of wastage, blame state governments. Ultimately poor people sufferer and government money wasted. Below are stats of wastage of food items in the warehouses of Food Corporation of India-
  • As per information pass on to Mr. Ashish Bhattacharya in the year 2008, Food Corporation of India (F.C.I.) had accepted that in their godowns 1.83 lakhs ton wheat, 3.95 lakhs ton rice and 22,000 ton paddy were ruined during past five years. After this shocking revelation of F.C.I., Mr. Anand Kumar member of Parliament in the house had asked question from Food and Agriculture Minister Mr. Sharad Pawar, “If his ministry is going to take action against responsible officers who are unable to take care of food items.” In reply Mr. Sharad Pawar said that he will take action against it. When no action was taken then on 6th January, 2010, R.T.I. activist Mr. Ashish Bhattacharya seek an information under R.T.I. act from Food and Agriculture ministry, “What action government has taken against the question and how much grain rotten further in the godowns of F.C.I.? Shocking information received by Mr. Bhattacharya in which ministry accepted that until 1st January,2010 total 14,088 metric ton food items ruined further in the warehouses of F.C.I. Along with it ministry also forward stats of different zone –
East Zone – 1,010 ton wheat
                    1,506 ton rice
                        54 ton paddy
North East Zone – 53 ton wheat
                               6,80 ton rice
North Zone - 73 ton wheat
                      4,648 ton rice
South Zone – 6 ton wheat
                      71 ton rice
West Zone – 1434 ton wheat
                        164 ton rice
                          81 ton paddy
as per words of Mr. Bhattacharya in the Government reply after 4rth August,2009, the day when Mr. Anand Kumar asked question, total 2576 ton wheat, 7069 ton rice ruined in the warehouses of F.C.I. and in it 2083 ton rice from Punjab and West Bengal’s 757 ton another food items are not included.
Above coded details are points towards failure of bureaucrats, system and ministry to take care of food items, and shortage of these items in the market across country shooting the prices’ of these items and people in the some parts of the country are unable to have full stomach food. Thanks to the Supreme Court of India’s directive to the Central Government to take care of food items otherwise distribute it among poor people of the country but single piece of grain should not be ruined, it will be story of past.

India, CWG & Corruption

This year in the month of October India is going to host XIX Common Wealth Games (CWG) at New Delhi, but with every passing time media is cracking irregularities associated in awarding contracts to companies and some of services’ hire by the CWG organising committee on rent basis but the amount payable to them are much more higher even from outright purchase. That’s not all even we are just less then two months away from the start of CWG but till date lot of stadiums still not ready and just recently with few hours of rain few stadiums which have to host different games their roofs starts leaking, water disrupts the entry from main corridor and it is now making people of the country’s worry that CWG may not give embarrassment to them. Question rises here if India was ready for such a big sporting event? It’s answer is that instead of world community to judge where we stand, first Indian Government should have their house in order in their own eyes then give opportunity to others to have there opinion and gone for bidding the games, but as everybody knows across country lot of problems exist and we cannot patch up or covers everything like Government of India spent huge amount ( it was express by congress party’s one leader who is member of Rajya Sabha on one of the news channel)for getting award of hosting the games, on to infrastructure, stadiums renovations plus going to spent huge amount on to the security at the time of CWG. Below coded demons roaring across country-
  • Non Stop electricity is a problem,
  • Pure drinking water is not accessible in the countless part of country,
  • Adulteration /Synthetic eatable food items sold across country,
  • Spurious drugs sold by chemists,
  • Corruption welcome citizen of this country on daily basis
  • Traders try to rob and sold every items many fold more then its price to foreigners
  • Fake Indian currency are in existence in the market across country
so lack of control on above coded problems along with problem relating to CWG one cannot think that it will be host successfully, all it need hard work, serious and sincere approach otherwise it will be a dream which will unfold not before 14th October,2010 which is last day of CWG, but being Indian as everybody are hopeful that CWG will be hosted successfully otherwise failure or degraded hosting can hamper India’s chance to host big events in future. Media is exposing corruption in awarding contracts, many fold money spent from its actual cost, stadiums are not ready yet, but organising committee and state government is giving assurances to the public & media that everything is right on track and will be ready on time and New Delhi will host one of the most successful CWG ever held.
CWG budget amended every year –
  • In the year 2003 when India awarded XIX CWG budget was 6.35 billion Rupees
  • In the year 2007 it was amended to 7.67 billion rupees
  • In the year 2008 again it was amended to 17.80 billion rupees
as per reports 350 billion rupees spent on to the CWG like awarding contracts, hiring equipments, basic infrastructure, renovation of Stadiums, but still organising committee is in search of funds and request government of India to release funds, when it refuses then committee asked BCCI to donate one billion rupees, but BCCI also denying it, so how much money is needed by CWG organising committee in the future its really a big mystery.
In the year 2009 CAG in its report declared out of nineteen stadiums which are going to host the different games, in thirteen stadiums work is not even half completed., and raises suspicion that less then year to go either these stadiums will not be prepare in time or organising committee will compromise with the quality, even six plans were closed by declaring that they are not directly related with CWG. Glimpse of condition of stadiums which are yet not completed but going to host different events/games –
  • Jawaharlal Nehru stadium which will host inaugurating and closing ceremonies its deadline is increase lot of time
  • In the month of May new shootings range was inaugurated in Kadarpur but because of downpour roofs and four walls collapsed.
  • Talkatora Boxing Stadium and Yamuna Sports complex roofs are leaking, false ceiling collapsed and because of water logging wooden floors are damage.
  • Shyama Prasad Mukherjee complex’s works completed only forty percent.
  • All training centre, Sports village, Shiva ji stadium, Jamia Mellia University fifty percent works still left.
CWG looking for funds and works which are incomplete how they will finish in time? It is taxpayer’s money which despite pump in for CWG worth 350 billion rupees, still organising committee need money and its hard fact that it’s budget increases almost six folds from its original budget and unless we not enter in 14th October, 2010 CWG will keep on horrifying every Indian and media will keep on coming with new exposé.

Emerging Power of Television

India hosted 1982 Asian Games and at that time Television in India was very less known, watched and have few hours of broadcast during whole day, it was telecast by Doordarshan and citizen of this country had access of only two to three channels, to watch the Television channels viewers had to erect antennas at their roof tops and higher the antenna means better the reception, if somebody at that time look around from their roof tops then all around there were television antennas; telecast was in terrestrial mode. It was the story and picture of Television industry in India up to 1990 with miner changes like telecast of black and white to colour and improvement in technical problem to minimal levels like Sorry for Interruption.
Then during Iraq war rise of television industry to its second level as people watch it through cable television on Cable News Network (CNN), anything happening there was available for Global audience including India but only in big cities and metros of the country. It gave birth to new technology in India to watch television through Cable, which reached on to the home of subscribers through cable operators and cable operators had installed big size dishes at his premises to receive signals of free to air channels, but it was analogue mode, and channels were giving services round the clock. Watching popularity and control of Indian viewers by cable industry, to survive its channels government make it mandatory to show three channels at there prime band for all the cable operators other wise authority can seize the cable operators equipments if he fails to air the channels.
In less then decade, Cable industry touches absolutely new levels in the country, as every well known group and channels try to cash the boom by beaming the signals and it was available in good audio and video qualities, the best part of this service was that it was available 200 to 300 rupees depending upon the location and 150 to 250 channels were available. Now it enters in digital mode through set up boxes and Direct to Home (DTH) service, through net, all it make Television industry across India a respectable name. With the boom in cable lot of companies start making programmes which gave chances to unknown faces, talent to get exposer and making them house hold name in the country without any sweat through below coded set of programmes –
  • Kaun Banega Crorepati
  • Dance Shows
  • Singers courtesy Sa Re Ga Ma
  • Reality Shows
  • Dramas
  • Stand up comedian
In the span of two decades television left far behind film industry as far popularity is concern among Indians, instead it attracts them to become part of Television industry, whom in the past they consider there insult to be part of it and were living in other world, but now actors, directors and choreographers are attached with different channels by one way or another like some are making programmes and some are judging the shows, in the list of programme making for Television channels are-
  • Jatinder Daughter through Balaji films
  • Comedian Jagdeep sons through Boogie Woogie
  • Shahrukh Khan
  • Yash Raj Films
Actors, directors, writer, dance directors are hosting the programmes like Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Saroj Khan, Shekhar Suman and Shilpa Shetty to name a few, infect no actor left who never appear on television shows. Even now actors prefer to promote their films through television reality shows by appearing one week before the release of film as they found television reality show good and powerful medium to publicity films without spending single penny. Now it’s quite common and often actors and actresses seen on channels frequently.
Television Industry has made big brother (Film Industry) dwarf with its strong impact and presence across India rather whole world among Indian communities and it is stamp by different sections of film industries like actors, Music directors, writers and chorographers, so in India right now if any industry is riding on the success then without any doubt it is Television Industry.

Adulteration: A Chewing?

Citizen of Country are against war with two enemies which are invisible, but directly affecting their lives and shocking part is that it appears as if authorities have closed their eyes against these two demons by name Inflation & Adulteration and left general public at the mercy of their luck and Almighty God. To cope with inflation countrymen can loosen their pockets but on adulteration they never can get rid at their own until and unless they are supported by authorities, otherwise greedy/corrupt/ money minded but handful people will keep on passing slow poison to every categories of society which include old age groups, elderly persons, youth and kids and without any doubt its much more dangerous then other calamities like natural or manmade as they effect particular area but these corrupt money minded people are playing with the health and lives of country especially present and future of India that is youth and kids. Using adulterated or synthetic food products continuously it make the body victim of deadly diseases’ like cancer, heart problems and failure of vital and precious body organs. Indians are spending hard earned money on slow poison courtesy failure of government mechanism to put their sharp teeth of law on to corrupt inhuman traders –
  • Milk
  • Vegetables
  • Fruits
  • Pulses
  • Spices’
  • Sweets
  • Refined oil & Ghee
  • Medicines
  • Ice Creams
  • Cold Drinks
  • Khoya / Cheese
  • Colour used in sweets
rather everything which available in the market in the final stage means when consumer just rip the packet and ready to use, no body can guarantee the purity of product. Electronics and print media are keep on highlighting news of adulteration, but the way electronics media presenting news of adulteration / synthetic food products selling in the market, instead of making impact on corrupt mind to stop inhumane practice of adulteration, it is increasing and adding the numbers in the society as unemployed and frustrated youth to earn huge money without any efforts as electronics channels are showing and expressing the method to prepare synthetic items and programmes which made for authority to wake up and raid intensively, instead watch the programme without giving any attention and generator of slow poison are playing with the lives and health without any fear in their mind and heart.
Last night on two well known news channels at prime time mean when whole family in the evening watch television broadcasting programme based on adulteration /synthetic food products and in which one channel was covering story with visuals of green vegetables, in which it was showing how money minded traders prepare spoil vegetables into shine fresh with the help of chemicals and low quality colour which are not permissible to use by human beings and second channel was expressing the story of raid in a factory where injection seized in bulk quantity which used to increase the milk quantity in the animals and farmers use to enlarge the size of vegetables but use for both purpose are harmful for human beings, and today in newspaper news published that authority in Punjab sized in metric tons synthetic ghee.
Until and unless government of India and State’s Government not serious to end adulteration and sale of synthetic products from country by making stringent law against adulteration who are playing with the lives of innocent generation of present and future, then in the country these corrupt mind will keep on doing slow poison trade and will increase across country like mushrooms which is dangerous and horrify for citizen of the country and if government of India and state’s government are failure despite proves then one can say something is wrong from top to bottom in our law to uproot adulteration & synthetic traders and just like it’s a chewing which will never end.

Garbage Tax

Direct Taxes one of the biggest source of revenue of any government, and to expand their kitty government keep on looking new ways, whether it can be justify or not, it is another issue. Often Government of India or State Governments sometimes impose tax or cess on existing taxes, despite protests and uproar from all sector of society which never listen or focus by Government, instead Central Government or State Governments keep on ignoring it. Recently tax or cess against whom everybody was vocal but government ignored it and implements, are -
  • Recently Government of India deregulate price control mechanism on to petrol and soon going to add diesel in the list, and result of it prices of all the petroleum products like petrol, diesel, LPG and kerosene increase, and as per news on monthly basis petroleum companies will asses the price of petrol and it is bound to rise or fall as per international price of petrol, but if diesel will also join petrol then it can create chaotic scene in the country because goods in the country moves from one place to another on trucks and any price rise they will pass on the buck to the customers by increasing the freight prices, ultimately it’s the consumers who have to bare the price increase.
  • In Punjab State industrialists are vocal against octroi and electricity cess as both are increasing their input cost, thus they are unable to face the competition generate by other states producers.
  • Petroleum products dealer association trying to convince state government that high VAT are eating not only sale of border area petrol pumps but also government is losing revenue because of slab of 33.5 percent VAT, and if this slab will continue then in coming time it can even dry the border area petrol pumps because of more price of products from adjoining states petrol pumps.
  • Now if one believes on to the speculation then Punjab Government is in process to impose Garbage Tax on the residents of state. Punjab Government’s local body department has issue order to Municipal Corporations and Municipal Committees to send them back after getting clearance from general houses’ of cities and town to implement door to door garbage tax, so that its contract could be hand over to any company. As per information Government has made mind to authorise any company to lift the garbage from people’s houses’ across state after global tender. When Government will receive from all the municipal committees and municipal corporations which have to get clearance from general houses then government will award contract to a company, and contractor have to recruit workers across state to lift the garbage from people houses’ and in return he is entitle to collect money 30 rupees per month from the houses which are up to 150 yard and with same area if it is commercial then he will collect 50 rupees.
It is a new concept in India, but with implementation of this door to door Garbage tax and residents of state has to pay nominal thirty rupees fees it will reduce government lot of burden as already working for committee government has to bear their expenses like salary, increments, bonus etc. etc but giving contract to any company burden will shift to company and plus government will generate revenue in lieu of contract.
