    After long wait of Mobile Number Portability (MNP) on 20th Jan, 2011 it comes into effect across country, which gives relief to customers to choose there operator, Now one more good news for the mobile subscribers to get rid on to unwanted calls and SMSs’ which often belongs to telemarketing, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has given option to mobile subscribers to get SMS or Voice Calls from selected category or fully block them. From yesterday onwards subscribers can register and it will comes into effect from 1st March, 2011.It is divided into eight below coded categories –

•      0  Fully Block
•      1  Banking/Insurance/Financial Products/Credit Cards
•      2  Real Estate
•      3  Education
•      4  Health
•      5  Consumer Goods and Automobiles
•      6  Communication/Broadcasting/Entertainment/IT
•      7  Tourism/Leisure

To choose particular preference or fully block Telemarketing subscribers can activate by doing below coded formalities –

• START < option > send to 1909 , suppose if subscribers wants SMS or Voice calls of Health then he/she can do it by START < 4 > and then send it to 1909.
• If subscribers add 0 in his/her preference then it will consider Fully Blocked like START “0,2,3”,
• To opt for multiple preferences from categories send SMS “Start ” to 1909. For example for receiving commercial SMSs from Banking Insurance/Financial products/Credit cards and Real Estate, send SMS in the format “START 1, 2”.
• To stop preference getting any commercial voice calls or SMSs’ then subscriber can do it by STOP < 4 > send it to 1909.
• Subscribers has option of activating or deactivating his/her preference through voice by calling to 1909

It’s a good choice for customers to choose his/her choice of telemarketing and barring unnecessary others as some time when a person is sleeping or busy then he/she gets unwanted SMS or voice call then it make concerned angry, but now these will be story of past as far telemarketing in the country is concerned on to mobile phones, from 1st March, 2011 onwards when it comes into effect, and if anybody still have query then he/she can visit the below mentioned site –
