Money and Development Projects

Punjab state is just under the shade of five months period for the assembly elections, ruling alliance in the state Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) and Bhartiya Janta Party(BJP) will now announce, implement schemes for the development projects or populist initiatives so that they can woo and strengthen their vote banks as state just comes out from the restrictions of election code of conduct which was effective in the state because of SGPC elections, but for the development projects or populist schemes state government need money. In recent times SAD has left behind his ruling partner as far urban development projects are concern. Below is look of areas where state government has approved money for development projects with the financial help of PIDB, GLADA and GMADA, total amount is 7.33 billion rupees, last year –
·        Mansa – 40.07 Crore
·        Moga – 8.18 Crore
·        Bhoucho Mandi – 7.9 Crore
·        Budlada – 19.7 Crore
·        Gidarwaha – 32.71 Crore
·        Goneyana Mandi – 7.77 Crore
·        Modh – 25.67 Crore
·        Patti – 20.69 Crore
·        Rama Mandi – 17.49 Crore
·        Rampura Phool – 24.12 Crore
·        Ropar – 53.58 Crore
·        Bareta – 10.39 Crore
·        Kotfatuhi – 6.73 Crore
·        Sangat – 5.37 Crore
·        Sham Churasi – 8.16 Crore
·        Begowal – 11.97 Crore
·        Bhikhi – 20.48 Crore
·        Dhillwan – 15.27 Crore
·        Rayya – 14.49 Crore
·        Sardulgarh – 68.87 Crore
·        Khanna – 96.80 Crore
·        Jagraon – 62.79 Crore
·        Samrala  - 68.56 Crore
·        Rajkot – 24.4 Crore
·        Guraya – 27.12 Crore
·        Sahnewal – 68.56 Crore
·        Kharar – 40.72 Crore
·        Banor – 16.81 Crore
·        Zirakpur – 10.58 Crore
Now BJP was able to get only 90.12 Crore from approved 3.17 billion rupees for the urban development projects, rest will again spend by Akali Dal, amount allocated to BJP will spend on to below coded areas –
·        Fazilka – 2 Crore
·        Abhohar – 6.90 Crore
·        Rajpura – 6.93 Crore
·        Hoshiarpur – 14.39 Crore
·        Mukerian – 3.75 Crore
·        Dassuya – 4.44 Crore
·        Pathankot – 10.82 Crore
·        Gurdaspur – 4.51 Crore
·        Batala – 16.76 Crore
·        Dina Nagar – 3.13 Crore
·        Sujanpur – 3.94 Crore
·        Phagwara – 6.55 Crore
It appears that SAD is trying to spend maximum money on to the areas of the states which are known for its vote bank, but it is giving very little space to its partner BJP by allocating paltry money for development projects, hence it can be very awkward situation for BJP to strengthen its vote bank by implementing development projects which come under its vote bank.
