Protection of Child Right Act 2005

In our society women and children are two most vulnerable human categories which needs protection from government as far their right and exploration is concern, so considering this government of India giving right to children pass protection of Child Right Act 2005, but some states of the country still not implement this act, Punjab state is one of in the list but recently Punjab state issue notification for the constitution of commission for the Child Act, with this not only right of children will be more secure but also it will tightened grip on to the persons which will try to exploit children in any form whether it is physically, mentally or emotionally. Below are different stats available which are related to children of Punjab state in the year 2005-06 –
·        Mortality rate of new born baby is 4.2 percent

As per words of social security and woman & child development department’s chief secretary T.R. Sarangla state government has already started the process of selection of commission chairperson & members and for chairperson they have received ten applications and for the interview date was fixed 13th October. On the recommendations and suggestions of selection panel final decision would be taken by Chief Minister Office and once the selection process of chairperson over then next step will be taken in this regard that is to select other members of commission, and as per words of Sarangla commission will have total eight members including chairperson and secretary.
Commission working area –
·        Commission will assess children rights from different ordinance and law, then will make it certain and take initiatives to protect, will pass on information time to time to state government through reports.
·        Commission will recommend requisite punishment to the complaints submit for child rights violations.
·        Commission will promote research relating to child rights.
·        Commission will inspect on time to time child amelioration home or other such institutions which are for children and then forward to the concerned departments its proposal of improvements.
·        After getting complaints commission will investigate for children rights protection or law implemented for developments of children which are not properly comes into force.
·        Commission will investigate for not implantation of policies and directives for reducing problems of children.
So hopefully once commission comes into operation in the Punjab State then problems of children will be taken care off by the child act commission effectively.
