India is world’s biggest democracy and before the time of election whether it’s panchyat, municipal committee, Legislative assembly, Member of Parliament or any other where next term is based on ruling parties performance, every ruling party come up with populace announcement to woo the voters so that there party get next term in the office again and almost every election has term of five years term in India baring some in which common people is involve to elect their government. Politicians not only ignore common people for first four years of there office but also keep there eyes closed on to the basic needs of common people which generally become the reason for voters to keep distance to cast there votes on election day who are common citizen of this country but not belong to any party directly or indirectly. Common people have no easy access to their elected representatives whenever they feel need to get rid on to their genuine problems and on their way they have to pass through lot of tedious formalities, but despite all this efforts it’s not sure and guaranteed that in the end his problem will be sorted out. Ruling party in the Government always have final say whatever whenever they want to reduce, increase, subsidies, add tax, increase tax, reduce tax no body can challenge ruling party action and it’s good example is that in the recent past prices of crude oil per barrel cross all the record and it touched 140 dollar and government had no option but to increase the prices of petroleum products like petrol, diesel and gas which ignited the inflation as it’s effect was visible immediately because India’s major contributor of transportation is trucks for moving of goods from place to another, increase in the price of diesel made freight dearer resulting all the essential commodities, fruits and medicine. Common people was crying that government efforts has haywire his budget when government increase the price of gas cylinder fifty rupees with announcement that we can’t subsidies the cylinder more then two hundred rupees and increase in the price of gas cylinder government still has to bear the subsidies of more then hundred , petrol price touch the figure of 55 rupees per liter and diesel was hovering 38 rupees per liter.Governement keep its eyes and ears close on to the common people problems, and in the month of December it reduces price of petrol, diesel and gas cylinder when crude price in the international has touch the figure of 40 dollar per barrel 5 rupees,2 rupees and 25 rupees respectively and pass on hope that they can consider price cut in future of petroleum products, it was ridiculous that decline in the price of 100 dollars government not reduce the price same ratio, and in the month of January government again reduce the price of petrol 5 rupees price of diesel 2 rupees and said that they did whatever they can do for the citizen of this country further cut will lead petroleum companies to burden heavy loss and it’s not possible, but it was sure and believe by every countrymen that election is due just after the budget session and government will pass on lot of attractive populace declaration considering the election years, Government reduce service tax from 12 to 10 % ,excise tax also reduced 2 percent and there is rumour in the air that government will again going to cut price of petrol ,diesel and gas cylinder to happy the common people, plan is ready to increase the ambit of rural employment to cities also plus increase the amount to double, increase the dearness allowance by six percent from 16 percent to 22 percent of central government employees and there is not logic behind this other then election when inflation is going downwards from last two months consistently then why government increase dearness allowance. it’s not that in this only central government is involve but because election is going to held throughout India so state governments are not behind in this, using tax paying public money on the advertisement in print media and electronics media which is not cheap and advertisement are full of claims whatever ruling party did from the time they are in power.
It’s really pleasing and good when government do for the welfare of common people but it will give relief and proud to inhabitants if their representative do this throughout there term in office which will make ground for them to remain in the government for next term also and anti incumbency factor will be word of obsolete.

Slumdog Millionaire

Although India Produce maximum number of films in a year in the world in different languages’, yet its film industry unfortunately unable to establish even it’s own (original ) name in the world and it’s commonly known shadow name of Hollywood that is Bollywood,but in the recent past film made by Indian film industries some films get worldwide fame and also succeed to get nominations in world’s most prestigious awards ceremonies like Oscar and in this list some name are Gandhi ,Lagan and yet there was not great success for Indian in any world renowned awards like Golden Globes, British Academy of Film and Television Awards (Bafta) , but yesterday was the day totally belong to Indians and it’s film industry when Film based on the story of a slumdweller of Mumbai’s with some known some faces like Mr.Anil Kapoor of Hindi Film industry and lot of new faces plus combined with director and some technician of western part of globe and to have glimpse of story is that Slumdog Millionaire is based on the novel Q and A by Indian diplomat Vikas Swarup, the film depicts the story of Jamaal, a Mumbai slumdweller and how he goes on to win over USD 20 million in the TV reality show Who Wants to Be A Millionaire? To get his love back and like its magical underdog winner story, the film which was made on a small budget has turned out a big winner by virtually dominating the pre-Oscar award scene in US. The film has already earned a nomination by Writers Guild of America and American Society of Cinematographers, last night won eight awards out of ten category it nominated and it’s not that it’s awarded and recognize only at Oscars but Slumdog Millionaire starts it’s journey by wining awards in all the well known world awards.
First time this year Slumdog Millionaire attracts people’s attention when it bag five awards at the 14th annual awards in the categories of Best Director ( Danny Boyle ),Best Writer ( Simon Beaufoy ),Best Young Actor (Dev Patel), and Best Composer (Allah Rakha Rehman ) of The Broadcast Film Critics Association’s annual Critics Choice Awards ( BFCA ) which is considered as the largest film critics organisation having members more then two hundred which are based in U.S.A and Canada.
Then Slumdog Millionaire nominated in four categories that is Best Picture, Best Director , Best Screen play and Soundtrack for Golden Globes awards 2009 which held in Los Angeles and it sweeps all the awards it was nominated and there was whisper in the air and making strong possibilities that it is going to do wonder in 81st Oscar awards.
Then British Academy of Film and Television Awards (BAFTA) Britain's much-discussed Slumdog Millionaire jointly leads the pack with 11 nominations but able to get awards in the seven categories Best Film, Best Director (Danny Boyle), Best adapted Screenplay (Simon Beaufoy) Best Music (A.R.Rehman), Cinematography in 2008 (Anthony Dod Mantel), Editing in 2008 (Chris Dickens), Sound in 2008 (Glenn Freemantle, Resul Pookutty, Richard Pryke, Tom Sayers, Ian Tapp).
When nomination for the eighty first Oscar announced Slumdog Millionaire was in the Ten Categories and they were Best Film, Best Director, Music Song (Two Nominations), Music Score, Film Editing, Sound Mixing, Sound Editing, Cinematography, Adapted Screenplay and won the awards in all categories except in Music score where it was against one of it’s song and second it was not successful to get award that was category of Sound Editing, and that’s not all for India in Oscar as one more nomination for India in the category of Documentary Short by name Smile Pinki and it’s also grab Oscar.
When Slumdog Millionaire starts getting appreciation from other part of world ,shockingly some of Indian faces who are part of Indian film Industry from quite long raising eyebrows and come up with words that film is selling India’s poverty to the world and it has nothing new, in the past lot of film made with same story but because they were made by an Indian that’s why they were not able to qualify even in Foreign film category but because it is made by foreigner that’s why it is begging awards in the world in almost every reputed award shows, even it’s name Slumdog is objectionable, then Director recently clarify the reason for film getting the name of Slumdog Millionaire that Slumdog is mixture of two separate words that are Slum and underdog and as in my film there is a story of underdog who become victorious in his life and is from Slum that’s how it get name, it’s totally wrong to pick the name as Slum and dog, and as per reports it was made with 15 million dollars and till date it succeed to earn 160 million ,and now in some states this film is tax exempted.
I think instead of criticizing the film by one way or another we should applaud achievements of this film, as film is work of art and fiction and if any presentation which contains ingredients of mesmerizing and appeal then certainly it will attracts people. It’s better if we also add our voices with the song of A.R.Rehman …………..JAI HO, JAI HO.

Family background also inspire him to make civil services goal and being son of retired S.P. of Lucknow Mr.Onkar Bhan Goswami,his elder sister Anupam Bhan is I.R.S. which made his mind to become I.A.S. -I.P.S. and even one more family member who is younger to Mr.Parmod Bhan that is his sister Varsha is deputed at the post of Assistant Police Commissioner, New Delhi, but despite his aim and family background he was not successful in his very first attempt and in second attempt he was selected for I.P.S. of Punjab Cadre. After training he was S.P.City Ludhiana and then was S.S.P. of Khanna,Gurdaspur, Patiala, Bhathinda, Muktsar districts of Punjab and now recently appointed S.S.P of Hoshiarpur District.It’s really a strong will power of a person to become something in life and achieve his goal and inspiring/motivating stuff for others if they want to achieve any goal in life and have failure in their attempt then with more hard work and will power they can achieve goal and become successful .
Second true inspiring story of a lady who was Manager of Retail chain of Multi National Company working in Mumbai, One day when she was going to office on her way to office suddenly a truck appear in front of her and despite her best efforts she was unable to break the car at right time and failure in her attempt for car to hit the truck, she survive but damage her both legs resultant unable to walk on her legs and for her rest of life dependent on wheel chair, this incidence inspite of breaking her mentally become source to surprise others how one can see opportunity in adverse circumstances. She was using wheel chair which need a person to take her from one place to other or with her hands she move the wheel chair but very soon it tired her hands, then an idea strike in her mind to modify the wheel chair little bit and from manually operated to make wheel chair mechanically operated, she discussed with her close friends about her idea and they also impressed and give their nod to move ahead and in one year time she was successful entrepreneur and rolling from plants mechanically operated wheel chairs throughout country .It shows that adverse circumstances can also bestowed opportunity but it need only eyes of a opportunist to see it.

From last five years boom in cable industry and countless news channels available in India it take Electronics media (Television Channels) towards new heights and they start producing making programmes at the time of elections which can change the outcome/results negatively especially for the ruling party and for it term uses anti incumbency factor which applies when ruling party unable to fulfill it’s promises during it’s rule, people unhappy with their leaders all it’s lead towards downfall of the ruling party which ignited the wave through programmes for ruling party are Opinion Poll and Exit Poll. Taking action on the verdict of Supreme Court of India to ban Opinion Poll and Exit Poll for publishing and telecasting today Election Commission of India release detail direction on to Opinion Poll and Exit Poll and it contains important decision of before the close of election and during 48 hours there will be ban of publishing, publicizing and telecasting of Opinion Poll and Exit Poll. On the issue of multi phases elections and simultaneous election held in different states Election Commission ban on Opinion Poll and Exit Poll, while specifying Electronics Media Election Commission mentioned Government and private Radio channels ,Television Channels and under it’s ambit Satellite, D.T.H and cable channels.
To understand what’s Opinion Poll and Exit Poll and how they effect on result when election held simultaneously in different states or held in multi phases? Before Election with Private agencies Television channels and Print media visit numbers of people and collect information through set of questions like whom they are going to vote? The way Terrorists execute this incidents it was clear that without help, finance, shelter and training by any country or government terrorist attack of such magnitude was impossible, and from very beginning India’s suspicion was towards Pakistan but without any concrete evidence and probe Indian ministry of External affairs mull and not come up with any statement which points Pakistan involvement in this attack despite media from both countries exposing proofs with every passing day but start diplomatic offence to trap Pakistan that it admit Mumbai Terrorist Attack was hatched on it’s soil and then Pakistan establishment take strong action against Terrorist organizations which have base and headquarter in Pakistan. India pass on detail to world communities through Dossier which contained detail of photographs of Pakistan’s products used by terrorists, phone call detail made during operation by terrorists to their Pakistani bosses ,raise it’s concern in the U.N.O. meetings, but despite all the countries accept that Mumbai Terrorist attack has some Pakistani connection and it’s now up to Pakistan to take action against these outfits as being major country of worldwide movement of fight against terrorism, but this time again Pakistan never accepts till 12 february,2009 which was time passed of 26/11 attack almost two and half months, and oversighting /ignoring proof forward by India and it was appearing this time also that Pakistan Government will never ever admit that their country have any connection with this attacks and India will be unsuccessful this time also and will stand at loosing end and future store more brutal attacks like this on innocent citizens of India.
On 11th Febrauary,2009 Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani while talking to media persons in Pakistan said India’s proof are not enough and without lack of proof it’s not possible for us to take any action against terrorists and bring anybody in the court of justice.Mr. Syed’s this statement upset common Indian and they start believing zero outcome this time also, but surprisingly don’t know what happen in the night (Certainly pressure from America) very next day Pakistan Government admit through there Home Minister Mr.Rehman Malik in a press conference in Pakistan that 26/11 Mumbai attack was partly hatched on their soil and they are going to pass on 30 questions to Indian Government whose answer they want so that they can take legal action against named person by India. Indian MEA (Ministry of External Affairs) react that Pakistan acceptance is positive and India will respond soon, same type of statement also came from Indian Home Minister Mr.P.Chidamram .Further probe by a Pakistani private channel Geo T.V. relating to 26/11 they release pictures where ten terrorists stay for long time, before staying here they had taken training for one years at Mirpur Sanson.It’s forty kilometer away from Karachi and somebody ten years back purchasing this land erect this set up, channel also show clips of people who reside there and said throughout day this area remain calm but activities begin in the night time. How they found this house as per the reporter of channel said forward Dossier by Indian Government there was mentioned of this house and it was found exactly after the probe probably it was told to Indian Government by terrorist Kasab in the interrogation and 17 Terrorists from Dodi Village proceed to attack on Mumbai, but seven stop there because of some reason. Kasab parents also probe by federal agency of Pakistan but agency not reveal anything to the media about probe. Home Minister of Pakistan Mr.Rehman Malik said that Pakistan can demand custody of Kasab.
It’s pleasing from Indian point of view that Pakistan accepted , yes after delaying it more then two and half months time, now one can believe that this development will lead further for some results but yes one may not believe of instant result.

On Every 14th February throughout World young couples / lovers celebrates Valentine day and India is not exception in this case as now in India from last Six to Seven years young couples / lover also celebrates this day exchange gifts and wait for this day anxiously to show/express there love despite lot of opposition by the political parties and objection by some social organizations, despite my enthusiasm, efforts and hard work to know What’s the reason behind this celebration? When it’s started? Who is Valentine? I was blank of information’s and still have no information, and then I think to search through internet and had belief that some positive must be come out of my efforts to get concrete information relating to Valentine day but it amazed me that there is no authentic information accept some stories / legend were there, So I thought collective information relating to Valentine Day which I was able to gather why not I post here. Below are scattered legend / stories gathered from internet from here and there for the readers and all the lovers of this universe who celebrates this day without having any information when Valentine day begin.
Three saints were recognized with the name Valentine by Catholic Church and all were martyred. As per one story Valentine was priest in Rome during third century, Emperor Claudius II feel that single can be good soldiers compare to that who have family and wives. He declare marriages outlaw for his potential soldiers, Valentine find this inhumane and he keep on performing marriage secretly for young lovers, which become reason of his death when Claudius II came to know that Valentine is still performing marriages . As per other legend Valentine send himself greeting when he was in jail and he fall in love with young girl who was daughter of jailer and before his death he wrote a letter to her and signed from your Valentine and it’s still used by lovers today. This story with Valentine day hard to believe but certainly his personalities has appeal of romantic and by the name of Valentine in England and France during middle age have references.
In Great Britain Valentine day popular and start celebrating by young ones during seventeenth centaury and they exchange handwritten notes and small token of affection and by the end of century printing technology develop and replace with greeting cards from hand written notes which was very helpful for the young lovers who find it hard to express in their words. As per some reports valentine rank second in the world when greeting cards use to celebrate /express the day and top in the list the day when people use greeting cards is Christmis, and seventy percent buyers of these cards are women. Other then United States of America Valentine day is celebrated in Canada, Mexico, Great Britain, France and Australia.
In India with the boom in Cable industry in last six to seven years and it’s access even from remote village of India Valentine is hyped by Television channels and opposition by political parties ,objection by some of social organizations attract young hearts towards Valentine day and find this day as source to express their feelings / emotions easy and effective which was restricted to big cities only , now Valentine Day spreads its celebration in small cities also which on the name of attack by western culture on to Indian culture political parties and social organizations oppose and young on the name democracy say in democracy everybody have right to live as per there choice and objection by anybody on to freedom of others is against democracy, Well if young celebrates in limit then no body should objection on there activities as they are also part of democracy where everybody have right to live there life as per there terms.

Tribute

In the past till last year I use to look for ways new from last year on 12th February to send greetings to one of the very few persons on this earth whom I respect the most after Almighty God, Parents and eldest Brother that is my eldest Sister-in-law Mrs.Naresh Jaswal who untimely at her early forties on 16th
April,2008 left every relation of this world she made during her life and left for her heavenly abode,12th February is important in my life because on that day departed respected soul’s birthday.
This world is as far human beings are concern is full of mystery from birth till last breath. We treated ourselves link with this world until body have soul, once soul left the body despite having all body part they unable to function at its own as if current is no more in the body. From where soul comes at the time of birth and when it left the body where it goes everything is unsolved mystery of this world, during life time it make lot of relation like daughter, son, father, mother, sister, husband, wife, uncle, aunt, grand father, grand mother and much more, but it comes in this world lonely and leave this world lonely .In Bhagavad Gita its written -
It’s body which dies, Soul never dies it is immortal as we change clothes same way when death occurred soul change the body ,present life is past birth’s relation of give and take when everything of previous lives adjusted then soul leaves the body.
Despite all this fact some relation in this world has so much impact on other’s life with their behaviour,
nature and inspiration that receiving person thanks Almighty God lot of time for bond with such a pure soul as with me Late respected Mrs.Naresh Jaswal after marriage with my eldest brother which spread just over two decades countless time stand for me and if I describe more specifically then as Parents back, help and feel happy and proud without any selfishness for their children same way she was for me. Never talk of her disease always inspire me to get rid on my frustration because of my chronic mysterious disease which left me till date stagnate from career wise, health wise and financially and even in my life when time come for marriage but as I was not doing work it’s hard to be married she convince me for marriage as rest of family members one younger sister already married, two elder brothers’ married and settle abroad you are living with Parents and presence of your wife will be very much helpful for Mother because in Indian environment woman has to do lot of household activities throughout day and she barely find time to relax and considering mother age it need helping hands /rest from all this and your wife will be very much helpful for her. Unfortunately even when marriage was failure she always on phone console parents do not worry everything will be alright soon and it’s the matter of time, how is your health, do take very good care of yourself etc.etc.
This is very small glimpse of her personality towards me and family, her untimely exit from this world made very big void in the family and I am unable to imagine and calculate the loss with her departure to her husband and two children's.Wherever she is now I thanks for her all the gesture and pray to Almighty God for his kindness on to her plus May God give always courage and tolerance to her husband and children’s to be strong after loosing pure soul which lives with them for small time but gives tons of memories which neither going to be faded nor erase from mind. As there is saying -
Life is for generation and name is forever
Her name and memories will remain with us forever as fresh as flower’s aroma until and unless we have breath.

Mantra of Self Dependence

To be successful in life sometimes it required inspiration or role model and following it with dedication and hard work anyone can open the door of success, prosperity and achievements not only for himself but also for community/everybody. More then sixty five percent Indian inhabitants are villagers and for there basic requirements and development they have to look towards government and politicians, being a large country financial help from government reaches to rural India often not enough and young villagers attracts towards urban India for upliftment of there economical condition, but if youth get opportunity in there home (village) then it will not only bring prosperity to villages but it will also help cities of India to avoid from over crowded .I have read somewhere a true story of a villager from India with his will power, hard work and cooperation from villagers not only he made his village self dependent but it’s a lesson for other villages also to stop looking towards government aid and create opportunity in village .
The story of successful villager is goes like this, in a village of Kuthambakam which was backward decade ago and situated in Chennai of Tamilnadu state. Resident of this village Alango Rangaswami following Mahatma Gandhi values change the picture of Kuthambakam .Born in a Dalit family he spent his life in the atmosphere of tension ,untouchability.It was common scenario to see husband beating his wife and family of higher class torturing Dalits.Average resident of this village was illiterate and drunker. Despite these conditions he studies seriously and after passing middle school Alango Rangaswami was the first Dalit to get admission in Engineering College. Being a brilliant student after graduation he get job, but before accepting the offer he thought to meet his family which was time after five years and seeing no change in the condition of villagers, it hurt him badly and think if I do not utilize my education for my own then my education is useless. First he focuses on the reason of poverty in the village. Like other villages of India farmer of his village also doing farming but for their needs only. He not only studied his village but also surrounding villages and found people spend almost six millions on to there basic requirements and found it the reason of poverty in village. Then he think how to motivates these villagers so that they lift there economical situation. After becoming Sarpanch of village in lot of meeting he educated villagers of his imaginations. In the beginning when he told people to produce lot of things in village itself people find it unrealistic but with contribution of villagers after he convince in the beginning they plan to produce only essential items. Later on they add more things in the list and after passing of some months people were amazed to see the result whom Alango Rangaswami share with them they found it unbelievable. Changing the picture of village Alango Rangaswami become famous in other part of country also. Later on when villagers consider to built houses then Alango Rangaswami advise them we should have to forget the cast be belong to and cooperate each others. slowly slowly condition of village change and alongwith it peoples’ mentality also change. Youth starts believing that in there village lot of opportunity are available and they need not to proceed towards big Cities.
Lot of developing countries of world are accepting the model of Alango Rangaswami but unfortunately in our country its still not get any appreciation from any other village of India and still they are depend on government money to meet their requirement for development or maintance of there village.

Life now a days so much tense because of liabilities and responsibility that human beings unable to find time for food at right time which is basic necessity of body so its ridiculous to accept from him to get time for other essential activities of life like exercise, entertainment etc.etc which is source of power to body and mind, entry by countless private channels through Cable which broadcast 24 hours, now every Indian have access to theses channels from his house even in remote villages of India and gone are the days when they were dependent on Doordarshan for entertainment, news, drama, sports, music and films despite the fact that Doordarshan service was not best of qualities with lack of contents resulting telecast for 10 to 12 hours in a day.

General Elections

After Independence in the year 1947 first general election was held in India in the year 1951, for 489 constituencies representing 26 Indian states. At that time, there were a few two-seat and even a three-seat constituency. The multi-seat constituencies were discontinued in the 1960s.All the general elections held in India since independence till 2004 only top three parties position with percentage of votes and seats are below coded :-

In the year 1957 general election Indian National Congress won 371 ( 47.78 % ) seats,this time again second were independents who won 42 seats( 29.32 % ) third was Communist Party of India 27 ( 8.92 % ).

In the year 1962 general election Indian National Congress won 361 seats (44.72 % ) second party was Communist Party of India 29 (9.94 % ) third was independents won 20 seats ( 11.05 % ).

In the year 1967 general election Indian National Congress won 283 ( 40.78 % ) Swatantrta Party won 44 seats ( 8.67 % ) Independents 35 seats ( 13.78 % ) Bhartiya Jana Sangh 35 ( 9.31 % ).

In the year 1971 general Elections Indian National Congress ( I ) won 352 seats (43.68 % ) Communist party of India ( Marxist ) 25 ( 5.12 % ) Communist Party of India 23 (4.37 % ) Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam 23 ( 3.84 % ).

In the year 1977 general election Bhartiya Lok dal /Janta Party won 295 seats ( 41.32 % ) Indian National Congress ( I ) 154 ( 34.52 % ) Communist Party of India ( Marxist ) 22 ( 4.29 % ).

In the year 1980 general election Indian National Congress ( I ) won 353 ( 42.69 % ) Janta Party (Secular) 41 ( 9.39 % ) Communist Party of ( Marxist ) 37 ( 6.24 % ).

In the year 1984 general election Indian National Congress won 404 seats (49.01 % ) Communist Party of (Marxist ) 22 seats ( 5.87 % ) Telgu Desam Party 20 seats ( 4.31 % ).

In the year 1996 general election Bhartiya Janta Party won 161 seats (20.29 % ) Indian National Congress 140 seats ( 28.80 % ) Janta Dal 46 (8.08 %) Communist Party of India ( Marxist ) 32 (6.12 % ).

In the year 1998 general election Bhartiya Janta Party won 182 seats (25.59 %) Indian National Congress 141 seats ( 25.82 % ) Communist Party of India (Marxist ) 32 seats ( 5.4 % ).

In the Year 1999 general election Bhartiya Janta Party won 270 seats (37.06 %)Janta Dal (United) Party won 182 seats (23.75 % ) Indian National Congress 114 seats ( 28.3 % )Communist Party of India ( Marxist ) 33 seats (5.4 %).

In the year 2004 Indian National Congress won 145 ( 26.53%) Bhartiya Janta Party 138 ( 22.16 %) Communist Party of India (Marxist) 43 ( 5.66 %).

Now General Election is going to held at any time as term of current Lok sabha is going to end in the month of May 2009 and every Party whether National or regional party start making strategy and trying to attract voters with announcements, looking for alliances where they are weak but there is no doubt that now rule by single party in Centre days are over and National Parties look for alliances with state parties, It’s not easy to declare / predict who is going to get voters mandate to form Government in the year 2009 General Election.

Punjab: Traditional Games almost obsolete

India is a very big Country with multi language, cast, creed and culture which one can divide it further into two categories that is rural and urban India and both have different lifestyle from each other. In rural India one can find true India’s picture which no doubt carry real Indian traditions but with wave of modernization since last decade in India rural India also now different from its early look. Punjab which has countless traditional games played by children loose its shine and now its very rear to watch in villages also . Below are some of them:-
Baantey (Small Ball of Glass)
In the street boys use to play with them in different ways but ultimately in every type of game the goal is to win all the baantey (Small Ball of Glass) own by opponent until this they have to keep on playing or mutual agreement to end the game. Sometimes the scene become very tense when loosing guy blame on to winning guy of cheating and mess with him. Boys with the Baantey often seen in street playing in groups throughout year but this scene is very rear to watch.
Kho Kho
This is game usually played in groups ( Team) and boys and girls both can be part of it.Miminum six to eight players need to play the game and then they divided in two group with same number of players, after toss its decided by the winning team but it opt to play first or give other team to play first ,then one team players sit opposite direction with space of 10 to 12 feet and one of there players run to chase (touch) other members and seeing near to any members he touch and say Kho then touched members try to touch other team members until all the members touch by them and then other team do the same.
Body
This is also a group game can be played by boys and girls both at same times and on ground they make with chock some lines which from distance just look like boxes, then one team’s members stand in between draws line and other team members to cross through these lines and backwards without touch by team members who are inside these lines, and if any member touch by team then other team’s turn begin and they repeat the same ,whoever made more score won it.
Stapoo
Its game played individually and in team, both boy and girl can play it .This is just like Body as with chock draw lines on floor and with piece of stone turn by turn both players wait for there turn until foul by the player who is playing his game.
Gully Danda
It’s a game played by boys individually and in team depending upon the availability of players. It can be played lot of ways under rule made in the beginning of game. In this thick stick almost three feet long and a small piece of wood which has sharp edges needed, and small piece of wood called gully hit with Danda and opposition has to out the player by catching flying wood when it hit by player.
Lukan meetey (Hide and Seek)
It’s a group game and turn by turn one player has to look for all the players who hide and if player who is searching players touch by hidden player then he again have to look all the players again.
Pithu kayam
It’s a group game and need a ball and some stones which are pile one after another and one guy with ball try to dismantle them ,once this dismantle his team members run and avoid to hit by ball by the other member team players before they erect again dismantle stones as it was before.
Shakar bhuji
It’s a game played in group and one has to stand by touching the wall and other person has to jump and sit on to it avoid his feet touches ground that’s only way he can be out, until this foul he keep on jumping on other guy again and again.
These are some games which I remember from lot of games usually in the past played in some city also but often these easily visible in villages and with changing time now its rear to see any of these because of invitations like video games, computer and cable boom children after study prefer to play with these gadgets instead mentioned games.

Electricity Crises

In today’s environment uninterrupted electricity supply is must because of countless innovations by human beings which are dependent purely on electricity and without electricity they are useless to name some of these innovations Electronics Gadgets ,Kitchens appliances and Industries other then basic devices which become necessities like fans,lights,refrigators,air conditioners, coolers and heater. Human dependence on Electricity is in all seasons but in summer season electricity demand increase because of untolerable hot weather and use of electrical devices like fans, air conditioners, refrigerators and coolers and in winter season devices like geysers, heater need electricity to cope with chill weather but demand falls heavily compare to summer season as these gadgets are used by very small numbers, other then this lot of constructions of houses and private business (office) and increase in demand of there products companies increase there capacity all of these are reason which are increasing demand of electricity with every passing day and put pressure on Government to look / generate new sources to meet the demand. In India every state has electricity board which are generating power and supplying electricity to every consumer plus some private companies’ also producing power in some states, but from Government / electricity boards side these efforts are not enough and creating big gap in demand and supply and they are covering gap through power cuts resultant customer of every categories whether they are domestic, industrial or offices to look for alternative avenue of electricity, right now alternative of power in India are Solar Energy,Invertor and generator to name few and people are opting from these as per there pockets because Solar Energy project is bit costly,Genertaor need petrol/Diesel to run and inverter which store electricity depending on its capacity and at the time of power cut it supply power to the devices ,but for all this customer has to invest money for interrupted power other then paying bills of electricity boards.
This year in the winter season from all sources there was huge gap in demand and supply and Electricity board meet the requirement through power cuts which was from four to six hours in a day in different part of state and it was first time that shortage face by Government in winter season and impose power cuts, Government is now working to reduce the gap of demand and supply by installing / erecting plants making strategy to use electricity efficiently by making awareness among user to switch over from conventional bulbs to CFL( Compact Florescent Lamp )which are not only cost saving but also release more light from conventional bulbs. Efforts by Government will show the results in near future when every categories customer will start using CFL and Electricity plants will start generating power (Two to Three years time) then as per Government that Punjab state will be surplus power state and shortage of power will be history, Certainly from that day onwards Punjab state will start moving on the path of prosperity as then every category will be happy and enjoy the modern facilities without pressure in mind of nonavailability of basic requirement that is electricity, farmers will be happy, Industrial plants will work its full capacity which will give boost to economy, home customers can utilize the devices they have in there house like Television,Computers,refrigators,Air Conditioner and students can read in the night also without the fear of cut, Certainly we can say that future store for Punjab prosperity.

Cricket: India towards Dominance

Just two years back Indian cricket was going through rough time in both form of Cricket Test Match and One day International. In every series players look as if they are playing for themselves, it was visible that they are divided in groups just to have there place secure in the National team not performing on the ground consistently and media treated cricketers as star whether they perform or fail ,that’s why cricketers who was playing for country always put themselves above the game, resulting Indian cricket was on downfall and individual were making records but India’s ranking in both form of Cricket was fluctuating somewhere in between fifth to sixth place, despite the fact that India is a cricket crazy country and it’s team should had been among the top three places. Even Selectors were finding its tough not only to name Captain of team for series after series but also trying to have best Coach available for team and keep on looking for former International players as Coach but nothing was proving good for Indian Cricket. Senior players like Rahul Dravid named by media The Wall, Sourav Ganguly named as Prince of Calcutta, Sachin Tendulkar named as Master Blaster, Anil Kumble as Jumbo, Harbhajan Singh as Turbunator, Varinder Sehwag as prince of najafgarh and unfortunately they are named with there performances in some matches but there inclusion in the team had never prove to be fruitful for India to improve there ranking.
World Cup 2007 which was played in West Indies from 13th March to 28th April,2007 India had send its star studded team and everybody was hoping and placing that team just like Kapil Dev team which had created history by defeating West Indies in a very low scorning final in the 1983 World Cup which was never ever imagine by anyone that India can do this as India had very poor record in one day international and in the World Cup 2007 India’s performance in preliminary round was so much pathetic that they even lost from Bangladesh match played between both the team on 17th March,2007 India made while playing first 191 runs all out in 49.3 overs and Bangladesh made 192 runs loosing five wickets in 48.3 overs ,it make India’s chances very dim to enter in next round as India was able to beat only Bermunda but lost to Sri lanka,There was very uproar on the performance of Indian Cricket Team in India.
Then came the turnaround in Indian Cricket when all the Stars (Senior Players) either withdraw there name to represent India for inaugural T20 world cup which was schedule to held in South Africa, 2007 or selector not pick them on the name of rest and send the team which was full of youngsters and newcomers, even named Captain Mahender Singh Doni was also not very famous. Indian players played brilliantly there and won the world cup. After T-20 World Cup India keep on performing consistently series after series and improving its ranking in ICC cricket ranking in both form of cricket that is Test Matches and One Day International ranking .Indian Cricket team start defeating in Test Matches teams like Australia, England and Srilanka which was treated very strong teams in world cricket and not easy to defeat them as in a test match for winning a Match team has to take twenty wickets in five days, make good score, field good, should play with planning, mentally strong and must have patience. In One day International Indian Cricket team beat Australia, Srilanka, England, South Africa and presently five matches one day series between India and Srilanka is on and India have taken 3-0 undefeatable lead by defeating yesterday Srilanka in third One Day International. Mumbai Attack 26/11 : No Result

On 26 November,2008 India’s financial Capital Mumbai faced one of the worst terrorist attack ,hundred and eighty three innocent people (Indian and Foreigner ) lost there lives who were staying in The Taj and oberoi hotel when ten terrorists came from Karachi Pakistan through sea route control these hotels on gun point and standstill India especially Mumbai for almost Sixty hours.ATS get rid on to these enemies of Nation by killing nine and capturing alive one terrorist which was thought initially that it will prove strong evidence when India show to the world that its Pakistan who is involve in Terrorist activities against India as in the past it was deny by world community that Pakistan is involve in terrorist incident simply lack of concrete evidence and unfortunately Pakistan always come up with one reply that it’s the jihadi of Kashmir who are attacking /killing innocent people just to attract world to solve there problem.
Soon after both Hotel free from Terrorists there was anger among people against politicians especially who are in the Government .Mumbaiker with there peaceful agitation demand to act against these elements which are nurture by neighboring country Pakistan. While seeing anger in every citizen Indian Government this time seen serious to check Pakistan and had taken lot of diplomatic moves to get rid on to this problem. They make a dossier which contains (pictures of Pakistan made products which was used by these terrorists, call records by these terrorists to Pakistan during attacks, kasab arrested alive by ATS his Pakistan detail ) pass on to Lot of Countries and to there High Commissioner’s in India, so that they pressurize Pakistan to act against terrorist organisation.In U.N.O.Security Council meeting India raise Terrorists problem which is fully supported by Pakistan and demand that U.N.O. pass on order to Pakistan to dismantle terrorist camps in Pakistan and do take strong action against terrorist organizations who have base and operating from Pakistan and Pakistan hand over to India 20 fugitives who are hiding in Pakistan. The then Secretary of state of America Condoleezza Rice tour India and Pakistan to cool down situation at that time which was very tense it was appearing that India and Pakistan are moving ahead towards war because of provoking reports by Media as Pakistan was responding India’s each and every respond through Media. Even Pakistan deny for more then one and half month that arrested Terrorist is Pakistan despite it was prove by there Television Channels that Kasab is Pakistan and he is resident of faridkot of Pakistan Punjab. Even when there NSA admits that Kasab is Pakistan then immediately within hour Pakistani Prime Minister remove NSA from his post with immediate effect.
American High Commissioner in India accepted that 26/11 terrorists attack had link with Pakistan,U.K. Government admits Pakistan is involve in this attack and Pakistan should take strong action against terrorist organizations which is operating from Pakistan. India then add more steps in there action against Pakistan by canceling of India’s Cricket tour to Pakistan which was schedule to be happen begin of February next year as Cricket is a game which is huge money spinner when ever India Tour any country and Pakistan because of there political condition in recent past lot of country cancel there tour plus Champion trophy which was schedule to held in Pakistan last September also cancel which was very big shock to Pakistan as they lost lot of revenue because of this and alongwith it generate bad signal for the tourists who want to visit Pakistan and for economy of any country tourism add lot of exchequer ,India also restrict some trade with Pakistan. Seeing all this instead of taking action against Terrorist group Pakistan establishment to distract from core issue to take action start sending troops on Indo pak border by removing them from Afghanistan border, also claim that they have arrested a person who is Indian also work for Indian Embassy in Pakistan has hand in Lahore blasts, but the ink of this news was yet to dry a Pakistan based terrorist group took responsibility of this attack.
Then in the month of January 20,2009 Mr.Barak Obama took charge of America as President and it was visible at the time of his election campaign if he become President of U.S.A. then he will take some new strong steps to pressurize Pakistan to take action against terrorists. He declared that aid to Pakistan which is going on account of fight against terrorism will be fully scrutinize as he feel doubt that they are misusing the aid but also add that there non military aid could be increase if Pakistan act against terrorist groups strongly.
Today its now more then two months pass of 26/11 and India’s achievement in this regard is zero as Pakistan is not accepting that they have any link with attack, even a statement came from there side that plot was made in European country not on there soil. Pakistan is still talking with India on to this Issue through Television Channel and not prefer to talk directly with Indian Government. India has to look other option to put pressure on Pakistan as till date it was unable to have any positive outcome which give sigh of relief that at last Pakistan act against enemies of Humanity.

Cell Phone v/s Landline Phone

Hello friends after gap of almost fortnight I am back as I was unable to write blog because of some unavoidable domestic reasons despite my desire to write as there is saying sometimes one has to oversight his willingness and favour liabilities/responsibility.
Before the 1990 India had very low telephone density and having Telephone connection in the office or house was treated as status symbol and to call in India or abroad it was very costly the rate for America/Europe was roughly at one time was 65 rupees per minutes and subscriber first had to book call then after some time through telephone operator he was able to call any number. Subscriber avoid to have STD on to there number, people use to give number of there neighbour to there relatives and asked them to call at particular time and sometime subscriber of Telephone find it very irritating when he received call and then have to call neighbour especially in the night time but thanks to development and entry by lot of players in this field which make not only call cheaper but also relief to the owner of subscriber, it also change Telephone from status symbol to necessity.
Then in the year 1985 in Delhi non commercially mobile service begin and slowly slowly throughout India after 1998 mobile service available to every citizen of this country but it was so much expensive that it cost approximately 42 rupees per minutes and not only subscriber had to spent money to outgoing call but also had to shun money on incoming calls and to save money on incoming calls user often reject the calls and make call to the number from landline phone on to number from where he received call on to his cell. This is the fact when every sector (almost state) had one player but slowly with passing time every sector adding new player courtesy government relaxing norms and now every sector has more then five to six players and calls are damn cheap, incoming is free, SMS are bundle with package, International calls are very cheap, subscriber has option to pick from prepaid and post paid, and they are available in GSM, GPRS and WLL category. Customers always prefer GSM and opt for prepaid because it keep on mentioning after every call the balance subscriber has which is very handy for a user when he is using telephone, while talking sometime user unnecessary keep on talking and if he has postpaid category then he find sometimes very annoyed when in the end of month he receive bill . Biggest plus point of mobile is that user access is not bound to call only but despite being small device it has lot of advantages like calendar, calculator, net access, music, video, camera, office application and much much more.
Popularity and increase in the number of mobile phone user badly effect the customer base of landline and people stop applying for new landline numbers, even who have landline phone in there house applying to disconnect it and offices which have more then one landline phone reduce to just one phone. It make the department to feel worried seeing the number reducing sharply but then Net comes as boon for landline phone as to have net in the premise whether it is home or office landline is must, if somebody have no landline phone and he is applying for net then its mandatory to apply for new phone also, so now there is some pause in the customer to apply for disconnection as net day by day becoming necessity not only in office but also in house because of its wide advantages like instant mail, cheap talk throughout world ,instant upload of digital photos, videos etc. etc.
Soon this year Government is going to allot the 3G Spectrum to mobile service provider then it will give more jump/boost to the usage of mobile phone because then it will give help user to see video at fast speed, right now although cell user has facility to use net through GPRS but it is so slow that sometime it give frustration to the user when site not open fast.
