Ban on Opinion Poll, Exit Poll

General Elections and some state’s Assembly Elections which are going to be held before the month of April, 2009 and as it held in the past in phases because of security concern and maintaining law and order on the day of Election for fair and without the incidence of violence, this time also there wont be exceptition in the holding of General Elections from past and certainly would be happen in phases. From last five years boom in cable industry and countless news channels available in India it take Electronics media (Television Channels) towards new heights and they start producing making programmes at the time of elections which can change the outcome/results negatively especially for the ruling party and for it term uses anti incumbency factor which applies when ruling party unable to fulfill it’s promises during it’s rule, people unhappy with their leaders all it’s lead towards downfall of the ruling party which ignited the wave through programmes for ruling party are Opinion Poll and Exit Poll. Taking action on the verdict of Supreme Court of India to ban Opinion Poll and Exit Poll for publishing and telecasting today Election Commission of India release detail direction on to Opinion Poll and Exit Poll and it contains important decision of before the close of election and during 48 hours there will be ban of publishing, publicizing and telecasting of Opinion Poll and Exit Poll. On the issue of multi phases elections and simultaneous election held in different states Election Commission ban on Opinion Poll and Exit Poll, while specifying Electronics Media Election Commission mentioned Government and private Radio channels ,Television Channels and under it’s ambit Satellite, D.T.H and cable channels.
To understand what’s Opinion Poll and Exit Poll and how they effect on result when election held simultaneously in different states or held in multi phases? Before Election with Private agencies Television channels and Print media visit numbers of people and collect information through set of questions like whom they are going to vote? What’s the reason for voting a particular candidate? and then information collected throughout constituency Electronics Media or Print Media before election release it and on the basis of their data they come up with conclusion that X party will win this much number of seats and Y party will win that much number of seats and certainly it’s not fool proof that there declaration predict exact figures, even often opinion poll of two different agencies ( media ) predict totally opposite of each others and scenario become confusing among voters and on the day of voting it help a party who without any wave /chance surprisingly perform unexpectedly, reason of this opinion poll by different agencies influence the mind of voter that a particular party is going to win this election or voters are this time going to vote against ruling party candidates etc.etc.,and when election is going to held in phases in a state then after election over in some constituency of state if a party have strong hold in the voted constituencies then exit poll give them advantage in the next phase election because then it help to change the mind of voter where election is going to held in next phases to vote winning parties members as they start believing then that if state is going to be rule by any party then it will help leader of party to implement its election manifesto which will give certainly boost to the prosperity of state.
First time India will go without Opinion Poll and Exit poll since Electronics Media’s availability even in the remote village of India in recent times and for opposition parties to win election they have to attract voter with their words and then action as this time they are without the help of Electronics and print media’s Opinion Poll and Exit Poll which were helpful for them to make wave of anti incumbency factor.
