Mantra of Energy Conservation

Today I thought why not to write something which keep me away for posting blogs on regular basis that is Electricity and in summer season because of increase in demand there is drastically huge gap emerge between demand and supply , in India lot of states suffers shortage of power and especially in summer season when demand rise because of running of additional electrical appliances like Refrigerators, Fans, Coolers, Air Conditioners and State Electricity Boards cope with problem of huge gap between demand and supply through power cuts instead of trying , built or increase power generations, resulting all categories of consumers suffer badly like students who use to spent time on studies in the evening or night unable to do so, service class category unable to rest properly during night because of power failure resulting effect on to their efficiency in the office, Industries not allowed to run whole week they suppose to shut down as per order one or two days in a week besides power cuts on daily basis which results less production or increase the cost of production if industries try to clear order through alternative powers thus their profits squeeze and one more category which is very large in numbers from above all categories that is small businessmen or shopkeepers who depend on electricity for their electrical devices to run ,it’s alternative is that either they go for alternative of electricity like Generators, Inverters, wind energy or Solar Energy but all this will definitely increase their cost or in layman words double it as one fold on energy will absorb by appliances to run because of alternative of power second fold which they are getting from their respective boards they have to pay Electricity Boards Bills also.
So here is Mantra which need active, serious, alert and dedicated efforts both from consumer and government and if both take some initiative then it can create wonder from energy saving angle without increasing capacity and below are some steps which can become miracles in efforts to save energy, Every consumer should be made mandatory to use appliances only which conserve energy and this way when it will be we counted on all India level basis then it will be huge saving of Electricity –
• Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL) - In today’s environment instead of using conventional bulbs of filaments or tubes which not only consume more power but also increase the bills, now when we have access to smart technology which is cost efficient plus consume less power when we compare to conventional, but because of unawareness among user they are still using conventional bulbs and tubes, so to convert from conventional to efficient power sources from Government point of view law should implemented which make mandatory for all the consumer to use CFL and if we start using Compact Florescent Lamps (CFL) then they will not only release more power but will consume less watt and to be more specific in this 25 watt of Compact Fluorescent Bulb (CFL) will release 60 watt which is more in term of even tubes which are part of almost of every house and a tube is of 40 watt release 40 watts but CFL will release 20 watts of more power but will consume 15 watts less, this way not only it will reduce Electricity bills but also save energy and in a house average daily basis three to four tubes used by consumer and converting them to CFL will save 45 to 60 watts and on all India basis it will be a very good and cost effective power saving method.
• Solar Energy – Nature has given us very good, powerful never ending energy and that is Sun and if we utilize Solar energy 25 percent and rest man made energy then we will add 25 percent of saving in national energy pool by installing solar energy devices like heating Water, Lights, fans but all it’s need from consumer part bit sincerity to do something for country.
• Extra financial burden should come to an end on Electricity Boards which created by political parties by giving subsidies or free Electricity to some category of consumer if they want this to continue then state government should bear the subsidies and free electricity and pass on the cost to the state boards so that Electricity Boards should not be financially tight to meet their requirements on power generation they produce but not get back the cost.
• Some days back news came in that Central Government will soon make it mandatory for companies which are producing products that comes under domestic appliances category and Bureau of energy efficiency (BEE) in a press release said that all the companies who manufacturer goods for domestic use will have to mentioned power consumption by appliances’ like how much power it will use (unit)and items which are going to come mandatory under this are Air Conditioner,Refrigator,Ceiling Fan,Tube light and they have to use star level which is one to five as per appliances consumption plus there is provision of fine for companies who escape from this term and this way as per estimated we can save energy upto 30,000 Megawatts which is a huge energy saving figure.
So the time has come for our citizens to express patriotism from energy saving angle without any burden or law imposed on them and infect every area where we can contribute we should step ahead before Government force or implement any law because our importance and pride in the world is because of our country and India has to set or create milestones for other countries to follow us not become a crisis country.
