Indian Proceeds in U.S.Open’09 & Boxing

Whenever we talk about sport in India then people love to discuss, comment, eager and enthusiastic to deliver there opinions with happiness and proud to Cricket and there interest and knowledge for other sports almost zero but now from past few time Indian are doing wonder in other sports like in badminton our shuttlers are improving there international rankings, In chess Vishwanath Anand is doing wonder, recently Pankaj Advani won world professional billiards championship which was held in Leeds, in football India won second time consecutively ONGC Nehru cup but still it is sorry to code that other sports have mere fan following when we compare them with cricket. Today was day of Indian in two sports Tennis and Boxing which are under proceedings in U.S. and Italy and Indian’s stunning performances’ not get much appreciation back in home from Indian. 
U.S.Open 2009—Today in the Men’s Double two Indian players Leander Paes (4) having partner Lukas Dlouhy (4) and Mahesh Bhupathi (3) and Mark Knowles (3) both won their semifinals Matches and now they will face each other in the final and it will be first time in the history that two Indian will play against each others, ironically they had played together international tournaments as double partner but they separated some years back and now playing tournaments having new partners. Below is how Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi progress to the finals of U.S.Open2009 which started on 31 August, 2009 and will ends on 13th September,2009 -
Mahesh Bhupathi (3) and Mark Knowles (3) –
• 1st Round – beat James Cerretani and Loyro Zoyko 6-3 , 6-4
• 2nd Round – beat Jesse Levine and Ryan Sweeting 7-5, 6-2
• 3rd Round- beat Yen-Hsun Lu and Dudi Sela 6-4, 6-4
• Quarterfinals-beat Ivan Ljubicic and Michael Llodra 6-4, 4-6, 7-6
• Semifinals –beat Max Mirnyi and Andy Ram 6-4, 6-2
Leander Paes(4) and Lukas Dlouhy(4)-
• 1st Round – beat Victor Hanescu and Gabriel Trifu 7- 6 , 7-6
• 2nd Round – beat Nicolas Almagro and Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo 6-2, 6-3
• 3rd Round- beat Julian Knowle and Jurgen Melzer 7-5, 6-4
• Quarterfinals-beat Wesley Moodie and Dick Norman 6-3, 5-7, 6-4
• Semifinals –beat Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan 6-4, 3-6, 7-6
on Friday 11th September,2009 at 11.00 am. Local time both will play against each other along with their partners to lift the Men’s Double Title of U.S.Open2009.
Leander Paes (2) in the Mixed Double Category alongwith his partner Cara Black (2) reaches in the final and their journey to the finals in Mixed Double goes that way-

• 1st Round – beat Patty Schnyder and Wesley Moodie 6-4 ,3-6, 11-09
• 2nd Round – beat Flavia Pennetta and Dusan Vemic 6-4, 6-4
• Quarterfinals-beat Rennae Stubbs and Robert Lindstedt 7-5, 3-6,10-6
• Semifinals –beat Su-Wei Hsieh and Kevin Ullyett 6-2, 3-6, 10-5
and Leander Paes (2) and Cara Black (2) will play against Carly Gullickson and Travis Parrott in the Mixed Double Finals on 10th September at 11.00 local Time.
Boxing-AIBA’s tournament under progress in Mediolanum Forum in Milan, Italy and as per news 554 boxers are taking part from 133 countries of Globe. It was started on 1st September,2009 and will conclude on 12th September,2009.Indian Boxer Vijender who emerge as star in Beijing Olympics for India continue his good performance in AIBA’s World Championships Milan 2009 in 75 Kilograms Category and advance into semifinals after defeating below mentioned players –
• On 5th September,2009 beat Azamat BELGIBAYEV(Kazakhstan) 14:8
• On 8th September,2009 beat Steve ROLLS(Canada) 4:2
• On 9thSeptember, 2009 beat Sergiy Derevyanchenko(Ukrainian)
Now tomorrow that is on 11th September, 2009 at 08.30 p.m. local time of Italy Vijender will play to get his place in the finals of AIBA’s World Championships Milan 2009 in 75 Kilograms Category, Hopefully he will keep his winning streak continue and will emerge as winner in the 75 Kilograms category, our best wishes with him.
