Injuries : Whom to Blame ?

One of the most famous phrase which is effective everywhere and in every sector of human existence that is “Excess of anything is bad”, Indians understand better & easily, if it has any link directly or indirectly with cricket or bollywood. Right now Indian cricket team is playing crucial one day series at home against Australia and today is the last match of the series but other then matches on the field lot of other issues were also part of the series and top of all other then matches is injuries to the players that is why lot of known players of both cricket team either unable to play matches or in between left their respective team and gone under treatment, injuries to most of the players of both sides it is believed that too much cricket is responsible.
Australian Cricket team tour India to play one day series against India, matches are schedule from 25th October,2009 to 11th November ,but before the start of series regular & known players from both sides which were not part of their teams were –
  Australia -
  • Michael Clark
  • Nathan Bracken
  • Brad Haden
 India –
  •  Zaheer Khan
  • Gautam Gambhir ( not played first three games)
  • Yuvraj Singh ( not played first two games)
and as the series progress list of injured players keep on stretching especially of Australian players despite they are under phase of transition and their known senior players retired and it has name like –
  • Adam Gilchrist
  • Mathew Hayden
  • Glenn McGrath
  • Andrew Symonds
after playing five games of the series Australian players unable to complete the series courtesy injuries and they are –
  •  James Hopes
  • Tim Pains
  •  Brett Lee
  • Peter Siddle
barring one or two all the above mentioned players are injured because of playing lot of Cricket because all the countries of the world which are permanent members of ICC have tight schedule and players hardly find sufficient time to rest as there is very few days gap between two series and despite lot of players keep on raising the issue of lot of cricket administrator of respective countries and ICC never ever give focus and attention to their genuine problem ,just two years back begin lucrative Indian Premier League and one more form of cricket T20 matches and T20 World Cup included in their schedule which will now increase more names in the list of injuries and reduce the tenure of their career, to avoid solution is either players skip some of series or administrator start rotation policy this way players can get little relief from injuries.
If ICC interested that Cricket wont lose its shine then they have to reconsider their strategy instead of quantity of Cricket they should consider quality of Cricket which is possible only if regular and known names keep on playing series but if they skip or keep on injuring their bodies then day is not far away when people will slowly slowly loosing interest in cricket and to keep any business or game running money is vital ingredient which generate only with fan following.
