National Crime Record Bureau Stats

Off late across country peoples are raising voices against corruption, they are very aggressive, angry and want corrupt leaders, bureaucrats, ministers or any individual who is accused of corruption should be punished. It all started by the campaign of Anna Hazare and few other socialists like Swami Agnivesh, Kiran Bedi former IPS officer, Arvind Kejariwal. In recent time Indians were keep on hearing stories of corruption and involvement of leaders, even before previous story erase from there mind and heart, shockingly until and unless pressure does not mount on government by public, accused corrupt were moving freely and insult to injury is that remain minister or head of committee, recent time such names that become the news headlines and talk of the town, are –
  • A. Raja : former Telecommunication Minister
  • Santosh Kalmadi : CWG OG President
  • Ashok Chavan : Adarsh society Scam
In this scenario data of National Crime Record Bureau is very important which reveals cases of corruption registered from year 2000 to year 2009, in the different states of the country during this period. In the list top five states where most cases of corruption were registered are –
  • Maharashtra 4,566 cases
  • Rajasthan 3,770 cases
  • Orissa 2,957 cases
  • Punjab 2,714 cases
  • Andhra Pradesh 2,686 cases
even worst in these states that accused punish were only –
  • Maharashtra out of 4,566 cases 1234 or 27 percent were punished
  • Rajasthan out of 3,770 cases 1244 or 33 percent were punished
  • Orissa out of 2,957 cases 976 or 33 percent were punished
  • Punjab out of 2,714 cases 977 or 36 percent were punished
  • Andhra Pradesh out of 2,686 cases 1558 or 58 percent were punished
Strong action taken by states against corruption cases are –
  • Nagaland – only 2 cases were reported and both get punish
  • Lakshyadeep – hundred percent
  • Bihar – seventy eight percent corruption cases were punished
Punishment to accused zero percent states are –
  • Tripura - 15 cases
  • Mizoram – 21 cases
  • Manipur – 25 cases
  • Goa – 32 cases
  • Andaman and Nicobar Islands – 23 cases
So above ceded stats can upset average Indian of this country, but it is shocking to code here that to get work done in the government departments which comes under the ambit of basic services’ public have to give money other wise they keep on visiting government offices courtesy excuses from government departments employees, but hopefully this will change in very near future when lokpal bill comes into force in the country as it is right now under drafting by joint committee members.
