Increase Storing Capacity or Distribute!

Democratic structure stands on four pillars -
  • Judiciary
  • Legislature
  • Executive
  • Media
and every pillar should be strongly efficient for happy and prosperous nation, but lack of any pillar’s support make democracy existence awkwardly and need clutches of other pillar’s. Indian democracy’s two pillars are not functioning at its own, thus from time to time remaining two pillars Judiciary and Media are executing responsibilities of non active pillars. It is Government liabilities to take care of their assets and they should not be ruined due to any reason man made or natural.
Country like India where countless people have not access to full stomach two times quality food and they are spending lives partly filled tummy, and Government of India is not stepping ahead to help them to come out from trap of hunger and adding insult to injury let wheat or other eatable food items ruined in there godowns which then by no mean good for any living beings to use. Then come up with excuses’ like it is not first time that eatable food items were rotten in government warehouses’ and it is happening from past many years, it is ridiculous and irresponsible statements which cannot be digest easily by anybody.
From past few months news is keep on becoming highlight in the media of wastage of wheat in the government godowns, courtesy RTI act, in multi metric tones, but Food and Agriculture Minister Mr. Sharad Pawar in the parliament upper house during question hours reply to a question that he will take action against tainted officers but his action not go beyond these words as nothing comes up conclusive or concrete to punish the tainted officers and also to save valuable wheat in the godowns of government.. This story is keep on happening in the country every year as Government of India has not proper storing facilities and procured eatable food items lies open under the sky with plastic cover sheets and to waste it just one light rainfall is enough.
Taking notice of both the situation Supreme Court of India order Central Government that no single piece of grain should be rotten in the warehouses’ of government, in case government is unable to take care of eatable food items then it should be distributed among poor people of country free of cost as lot of people have not access to quality food twice a day to full stomach. It means countrymen are bearing double flog one by priceless food items are keep on rotting in the government warehouses’ secondly countless citizen living lives with limited access to food items.
One day after Supreme Court directive comes to government of India on rotting of wheat, Food and Agriculture Minster Mr. Sharad Pawar said Government is in process to erect warehouses across country. Replying answer on to question in the parliament he said Food Corporation of India has taken responsibilities for erecting godowns and going to issue tenders, he also added we are taking necessity steps to stop food items being ruined, as his ministry, is in dialogue with different states government to make arrangement of land to erect godowns.
Hopefully either government of India will make sufficient and proper arrangements to save grain wasted in their godowns or will consider honestly to distribute grain among poor people in case it found patches or holes in its storing facilities but both way it will help country to save priceless food items turning into rot and thus wastage of wheat will be story of history.
