Resource Rooms In Government Senior Secondary Schools of Punjab

To provide facilities to the students of government senior secondary schools across Punjab State equivalents to private schools of Punjab, Director General of School Education (D.G.S.E.) and State project Director Punjab has release 15.6 million Rupees as fund for the resource rooms, along with letter of instructions to be strictly followed by the government senior secondary schools which are selected for the project across state and asked to start work immediately. As per sources only best performer government senior schools are picked for the resource room’s project. Total seventy eight government senior schools able to enter in the list of resource room’s project and its district wise break up is as follow, in alphabet orders –
  • Amritsar – 06
  • Barnala - 02
  • Bhathinda – 06
  • Faridkot – 04
  • Fatehgarh Sahib – 05
  • Ferozpur – 03
  • Gurdaspur – 06
  • Hoshiarpur – 07
  • Jalandhar – 09
  • Kapurthala – 02
  • Ludhiana – 08
  • Mansa – 05
  • Mohali – 05
  • Muktsar – 04
  • Nawashehar – 02
  • Patiala – 02
  • Ropar – 02
Question rises here what is resource room’s? It’s simple and straight forward answer is it is a place in the campus which is equipped with ultra modern gadgets for students to do practical stuff, and for this project state’s seventy eight best senior schools are selected, on every resource room’s total two lakh rupees are provided, project department has instructed the selected government senior schools to finish the project in next three months plus they required to submit the certificate which should have expense details but it has to be built without the help from school kids.
So after three months period when resource room’s erected in the campuses’ of selected best government senior secondary schools of Punjab state, then students of these schools will be able to use ultra modern facilities equivalents to private school courtesy Director General of School Education (D.G.S.E.) and Project Director Punjab, thus it will change of image of government school in the mind of public that they are not equipped with facilities equivalents to private school and that is the reason of government schools are legging behind to compete with private schools of the state.
