India’s one of the most prosperous Punjab State’s Petrol pumps are facing one after another problems and it appears it wont end in near future. Recently Punjab Petroleum Dealers Association was very vocal and requesting the Punjab government to reconsider its decision of more then thirty three percent VAT on Petrol which is making the price of Petrol in Punjab highest in the country and its impact is feel by not only residents of state but also it is effecting the sale of petrol pumps especially which are near to Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana States as vehicle owners of these areas prefer to get fuel from other state due to difference in the price of petroleum products hence score of petrol pumps are at the point of close down if government does not take immediate action to reduce the price of VAT equivalents to adjoining states, but till date state government has not shown interest to have its focus on to the demand of Punjab Petroleum Dealers Association. Association believe that if state government will reduce VAT then sale of Punjab will increase and government will get more revenue then they are getting right now plus it will increase the sale of petrol pumps of border areas.
