        India reaches top of the test match ranking of International Cricket Council for the first time last year in the month of December,2009 when they beat Sri Lanka 2-0 in the three test matches series at home. Then in the month of January,2010 Indian played two test matches series against Bangladesh in Bangladesh. B.C.C.I. also request South Africa to play two test matches on their tour to India in which as per schedule they had to play seven One Day International matches only, perhaps reason behind this imitative was to increase the numbers from second rank test team of I.C.C. which incidentally was South Africa as India has very good record against all the touring team in home grounds but ignoring this without hitch South Africa accepted to play two test matches in India. Indian cricket fans were hoping to have very good time for their team to widen the gap as their tour of Bangladesh where they played two test matches India won both matches and now series of two matches against South Africa in home grounds is start, one more point goes in favour before the start of two matches against South Africa that was South African coach resign few days before the start of their Indian tour.

      First test match between India and South Africa started from 6th feb,210 to 10th feb,2010,South Africa won the toss and opted to bat first, without any doubt first two days of match belong to South African batsmen as H.M. Amla scored 253 runs not out and J.H. Kalis scored 173 runs and they pile huge mountain of runs for Indians to climb which were 558 for the loss of 6 wickets, it shows that either Indian bowling was not up to the mark or South African batsmen in full form. Then on third day slaughtering of Indian batsman began by South African bowlers especially D.W.Stayn his bowling figure was 16.4 overs 6 maidens Indian batsmen scored 51 runs on to his bowls and he took seven wickets, India all out in their first innings 233 runs, India ask to follow on , in second innings India lost both the openers again and total two times each in a day ,Indian lost total twelve wickets and on fourth day India all out again on 319 runs which were short of south Africa’s first innings of six runs and thus India lost the match with an innings and six runs. So in this match performance of Amla, kallis, D.W.Stayn were major contributors for their victory.
     As per record, under the captaincy of Mr. M.S. Dhoni India lost first match in five years. In second match in the absence of known name of middle order new comers has to perform patiently as there is saying in cricket –

    and every members of team has to give their best performance in all the departments of match like bowling, batting and fielding so that they win the match and retain their number one position in the test match ranking but defeat and draw in the second match will be lost of crown of number one position, it is heart which want this but the way in first match South African team had perform first two days with bat and next two days with bowl it will be very tough asking for Indian cricket team to come back in second test match.
