Center & States Government claiming & declaring that their policies are pro common people but ground realities is totally opposite of it as the worst phase which begins from September,2009 and till date it is continue, both level leaders(centre & state ) are blaming for each others but it is the cruel reality in the blame game common people are grinding,September,2009 month onwards which was start of festival season in India people instead of celebrating festivals with great fervor had to face two inhuman demons -
- Deadly synthetic food products
- Inflation
Today every category of Indian is vocal against the many fold increase in the prices’ of all the essential food items of kitchen and in spite of doing efforts to make available food items at reasonable rates to the public concerned are releasing statements in the media that because of shortfall of rain and shortage in the demand & supply, prices’ are bound to increase and how much time it will take to reduce no body knows? It is shocking and scary feelings that by releasing such statements leaders are encouraging lobbies of black marketers & hoarders and eschewing from the responsibilities & liabilities to get rid of shortage in the country of essential food items and not panic already sad & frustrated public.
At the same time concerned states are also responsible for current crises in the country, if they take control & operate of public distribution system and sell essential food items with discounts bearing the some cost then it will make public happy, but state government instead of taking steps of public friendly initiatives they have put additional burdens on public to increase their revenues. Its example is Punjab state which recently implement proposal of two members committee by name Kalia/Sukhbir and these recommendations comes into effect from yesterday in which as per news one thousand items rates will be dearer in Punjab as committee recommended one percent increase of vat from four to five percent & ten percent cess on five percent vat and that’s not all, even make petroleum products costly in the state because committee have proposal of cess on petrol 1.05 rupees and 0.33 paisa on diesel, now Punjab state has left behind all the states as far tax on petroleum products are concerned –
- Chandigarh - 22 percent
- Delhi - 20 percent
- Haryana - 20 percent
- Himachal Pradesh - 24 percent
- Maharashtra - 28 percent
- Punjab - 33 percent
