T20 Cricket World Cup: India Exist

      Indians are crazy for cricket, and whenever in the world Indian Cricket team play the match, Indians in huge numbers present in the ground to support their team. They react equally at the time of defeat or victory of team. Just recently included shorter version of the game T20 has left far behind other format of cricket like One day International and Five days Test Match, as far popularity is concern among Indians, and its proof is that BCCI supported Indian Premier League started in India which is based on the pattern of English Premier League, and have T20 games.
     Inaugural T20 world cup was held in South Africa, India became Champion, and Second World Cup was held in England won by Pakistan, now third T20 world cup is underway in West Indies. As per experts views India and Australia are favourite teams to lift the Cup. Indian Cricket team goes to the World cup after spending one and half months, totally drowned in the colour of T20, as on 25th April,2010 was the final of IPL season III, and India team was back by experts because of extensive practice, along with experts news channels also hype the T20 world cup and by making slogans of bring back the cup, but it is the hard fact that out of ground and inside the ground are two different side of coin which have no relation and team won, only in the ground , by good performance on given day. Below are brief stats of Indian Cricket team game by game advance in the tournaments –
  • 1 May 2010, Played at Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia, against Afghanistan, India won the toss and choose to field first, Afghanistan in their allotted twenty overs, made 115 runs at 5.75 runs per overs and lost eight wickets, highest scorer for Afghanistan was opener Noor Ali who made fifty and from India Ashish Nehra was the best bowler who in his allotted maximum four overs had given nineteen runs and had taken three wickets with an economy of 4.75 per overs. India while chasing the target reaches 116 runs in 14.5 overs and lost only three wickets and highest contributor was M. Vijay who scored 48 runs, thus India won the match by seven wickets and thirty one balls were remaining. Ashish Nehra was declared man of the match and India put two points in their kitty.
  • 2 May 2010, Played at Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia, against South Africa, South Africa won the toss and opted to field first, India made 186 runs for the loss of five wickets in their twenty overs at an average of 9.30 runs per overs, S. K. Raina contribute 101 runs from bat, no bowler from South Africa team was impressive. While batting South Africa in their twenty overs made 172 runs for the loss of five wickets, which was short of 14 runs of their target, despite Kallis made 73 runs, Piyush Chawla declared man of the match for his bowling performance; his stat was 3 overs-27 runs-1 wicket economy of nine runs per overs. With the victory India advances to super eight without any obstacles in their league matches.

  • 7 May 2010, Played at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados, India v/s Australia, India won the toss and elected to filed first because of considering the condition of early start of play, Australia made 184 runs for the loss of five wickets at an average of 9.20 runs per overs in their twenty overs, both the openers Warner and Watson scored 72 runs and 54 runs respectively, from India Harbajan bowling was impressive and his figure was 4 overs-1 maidan-13 runs with economy of 3.75 runs per overs, but chasing score of Australia, India were 7 down for 50 runs on the board in 10.3 overs of their innings and then match appear a mere formality and India ended their innings with all out in 17.4 overs and they made 135 runs, thus India lost the match by 49 runs and Australia defeated India in all the departments of the game. D.A. Warner adjudged man of the match, so for India next two matches not only will be must win game but also have to win with good margin.
  • 9 May 2010, Played at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados, India v/s West Indies, India won the toss and choose to field first with same reason of early start of the game, In their twenty overs west Indies made 169 runs for the loss of six wickets at an average of 8.45 runs per overs, from West Indies captain Gayle was the highest scorer 98 runs, in this match also Harbajan was the impressive from India bowlers and his figure was 4 overs-16 runs with economy of 4 runs per overs, In the 12.4 overs half the team was back in benches and score was 81,it was then appearing India wont make in the next round and India was able to make only 155 runs for the loss of 9 wickets, Chris Gayle was declared man of the game, so for India to enter in semi finals not only they will have to win with minimum 20 runs margin from Sri Lanka and also pray that Australia defeat West Indies.
  • 11 May 2010, Played at Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia, India v/s Sri Lanka, India Won the toss and elected to bat first, In their twenty overs India made 163 runs for the lose of five wickets, SK Raina and Gambier contributed 63 runs and 41 runs respectively and from Sri Lanka side Perera was the impressive bowlers and his spell was overs 3-maiden 0-runs 15-wicket 1,Sri Lanka had to score 8.15 runs per overs to win the game, and they reach the target in the last ball, they made 167 runs for the lose of five wickets, Sangakara and Mathew scored 46 runs each, AD Mathew declared man of the match and India exist with their third consecutive defeat in the super eight.
