Serial Blasts in Ghuwahti

On the very first day of this year that is 1st Jan, 2009 capital of Assam state Ghuwahti was rock with Serial blasts that’s also when recently appointed Home Minister of India P.Chidambram first time going to visit Assam state after taking charge of office and in these Blasts which happened one after another three blasts 5 people died and another 51 people injured and these blasts were held in biruwadi, bootnath and bhangarh area. In these blasts dustbin of municipal committee and cycle was used. Home Ministry express suspicion that ULFA is behind these blasts and police told that in all the three blasts Intensive Explosive device (IED) was used.
As per news sources first blast occurred in biruwadi area at 3.30 p.m. in the dust bin of municipal committee which was kept outside of A.T.B. Hospital, three people injured in this blast. After two hours of this blast second blast held in bootnath area bazaar, bomb was planted in a tiffin box and it was put on cycle, injured 12 people in this blast its learnt that five person are seriously injured and from bootnath area convoy of Indian Home Minister was to pass through as he was on tour of Assam, After ten minutes of this blast third blast goes off air in the Supermarket of bhangarh area. Police immediately reach on incident places and start rescue work. Injured were admitted to different hospitals. As per Police IG of Assam G.M.Shrivasatav there is hand of ULFA behind these blasts. It’s worth mentioning here that from last three days in Delhi National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) is discussing peace dialogue with center. It’s treated that to oppose this peace dialogue and express there anger another organizations did these blasts. President Smt.Pratibah Patel and Prime Minister Mr.Manmohan Singh condemn these blasts .At the same time information gathered from sources that after serial blasts in Ghuwahti border area of Assam that touches West Bengal vigilance increased and whole state of Assam security tighten.
Indian Government is doing efforts to check Terrorist activity efficiently and strongly that’s why first meeting of restructured Intelligence agency MAC ( Multi Agency Center ) held today in New Delhi headed by P.Chidambram. There was proposal in investigating Agency : new law, strong attitude, no bail to foreign terrorists, daily hearing, custody of 180 days,10 years of punishment to terrorist, also punishment for keeping explosive materials. To make it more effective and active Government yesterday itself restructured seven years ago constituted intelligence bureau’s MAC Agency .This meeting was attended by the Intelligence bureau, Home Ministry’s senior officers and Central semi Security personnel’s .Government in an announcement accepted it was not effective fully and was in need for more legal powers. Yesterday announcement by Home Minister had said MAC and other all Government agencies there is mandatory to exchange intelligence information.P.Chidamram express hope that with restructured MAC to act against terrorist attacks intelligent structured will make more effective and efficient. He said in lot of states MAC unit are established. Now slowly slowly its unit will be set up in all the states
