Strike makes India Standstill

In India from one state to another essential commodities reach through transport (Trucks) and railways but major share is held by transporter. In recent time Transporter had three times dialogue ( last time on 5th Jan,2009 ) with Central Government just to met there demands , and unfortunately when dialogue between both parties third time fails, Transporter declared indefinite strike and announced it will be continue until and unless Government not accept there demands which was root of dialogue and till date strike is continue, it effect badly common people as prices of vegetables, fruits and another essential items rise sharply despite Government imposes Essential Services Maintance Act,1981 ( ESMA ) and also arrested some All India Motor transporter Congress officials.
While seeing strike by All India Motor Transporter Congress on 7th Jan, 2009 more then 50,000 Officers of Public Sector Oil Companies also gone on Indefinite Strike .With there strike in one day only Petroleum products supply halted to countries countless Petrol Pumps and as per report 70 percent were dry, people start rushing from one petrol pump to another just to have there vehicle feuled,in lot of cities of country people personnel vehicles,taxies,auto rickshaws remain stranded and plying of Buses also stop which is economical and use by commuters of different category like students, office class, and daily travelers from one city to another on daily basis were badly effected, shortage of gas supply make power generation declared that power generation will be effected in north India soon and badly. Crisis created by strike by transporter was covered little bit by small vehicles at city level which were supplying essential items like milk, vegetables and fruits were also stop because of non ability of fuel resultant alternative supply to halt. Not only people unable to travel but supplies of essential items also suffered. Country which is already in the net of economical crisis and suddenly strike in this time by Public sector Oil Companies officers make situation worsen, perhaps there view was they are getting less money as per there workload and can pressurize Government with there sudden move and will be successful to have hike in there package, but some of these officers are getting more salaries then of Central Governments Secretaries whom they start getting package after the implantation of Sixth Pay Commission. Surprisingly when these officers declared strike they not think that world is under the grip of recession and India is also effected from recession crisis and countless person have lost there jobs and package’s of employees are shrink, they are going for strike to have increase in there salaries which has neither logic nor they will get support/sympathy of people because with there action it will be common people who will be effect badly. Government step ahead and talk with the leader of these striking officers but they were stick on to there demands. Seeing the seriousness of situation Prime Minster Mr.Manmohan held meeting in the morning of 9th Jan with his cabinet minister and took decision to take strong action against these officers. After direction from Central Government every state Government to have uninterrupted supply of Petroleum Products they imposed ESMA on Petroleum Products. Government also orders to take help of Army to make it possible uninterrupted supply of Petroleum Products. Petroleum Minister Mr.Murli Dewda warn officer who was part of this strike to return to work otherwise they can be arrested, suspended and also release suspension order of some officers.
Blackmail policy which unable to bend Government after two and half day of strike officers call off there strike without any terms.It is lesson for all the organization in the countries that if they will go on strike without genuine reason it will be ultimately striker who will effect as Government has option to curb there strike strongly without there any demand accepted and they have to return to work unconditionally.
