Baba Ramdev & His Black Money Campaign

India is democratic country and to govern the country its liability and responsibility of ruling party or alliance, to make any law in the country elected members of all the parties debate in the lower house of parliament that is Loksabha and if they give their nod by passing the bill then bill debate in the upper house of Parliament (Rajya Sabha). In the country every citizen has right to agitate/raise their voice against government actions, but never happened that government succumb to pressure of any citizen and take action as per demands.
Baba Ramdev also known as yoga guru, from past few years very much vocal against the sins of society and in the top of list he wants black money of Indians which is stashed by Indians in the tax haven countries as it belongs to India so it should be bring back to India, thus it will help India to get rid on score of its problems in one go, as per words of Baba Ramdev black money of Indians is amount to rupees 300 to 400 lakh crores. Certainly it’s huge money and our leaders should be serious to take initiatives in this regard as early as it is possible. Last year on June 4th   Baba Ramdev booked Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi for one fortnight to protest against government’s silence on to the issue of black money plus few other demands and had schedule to continue his fast unto death protest till he does not get any positive response from government, but government by force ended his fast after one day itself in the night with the help of police, although in the country government gets criticism of its action from every section of society and Baba Ramdev ended his fast unto death on ninth day which he was continuing from Haridwar. Later on government found some issues’ to trap Baba Ramdev through his aide Acharya Balkrishan on some discrepancies. Then Baba Ramdev changed his strategy of protest, now he organising free Yoga Shivars across country and during shivars he never forget to tell the gathering about black money and failure of rulers to bring back the black money in the country. He also made Bharat Swabhiman party and at the time of making party(about two years back) he declared he will put his party’s candidate in all the 543 constituencies of the country in 2014 general elections, along with it he also announced that he can start with the UP assembly elections 2012, but in UP assembly elections which are under way and there is no sign that his party will fight elections. His voice against black money is as loud as it was on day first through electronics media, but till date government have not listen seriously on to his demands, and as mentioned earlier it does not happened in the past that government succumb under the pressure of any citizen, its example is Anna Hazare, whose campaign against corruption and implementation of Jan Lokpal bill in the country is continue, despite his below coded protest throughout in the year 2011 which was started from April month –
  • On  5th April 2011 he protest through fast unto death for four days because government accepted his demand for Lokpal and agreed to constitute committee having five members from both sides to make Lokpal draft, later on which will be presented in the parliament’s monsoon session.
  •  On 16th August,2011 onward he fast for 12 days as government ignore civil society draft and get nod from Group of Ministers on to Government Lokpal version, and after twelve days of his fast unto death government accepted his demands and ready to present all the versions of Lokpal in the parliament available to them for consideration.
  •  In the winter session of parliament Anna Hazare gave ultimatum if Jan Lokpal draft will not pass then he will sit on fast from 27th to 29th December,2011, government specially extended parliament session for Lokpal debate for three days, but after two days of his fast unto death protest Anna Hazare called  off his fast after doctor asked him because his health deteriorated, and in the parliament lower house cleared the bill but in the upper house it was stuck due to time limits of parliament session and upper house of parliament debate on bill till midnight, so despite his efforts throughout year bill still not implemented in the country.
If Baba Ramdev wants his issues’ should be considered seriously by government then its without any doubt straight forward and right way is he should have strength in the parliament,, and for this he send his representatives elected through democratic process that is elections and then can do best for the country, other wise if he keep on raising his  issues’ in the country through media then it will not give fruitful dividend to country, choice lies with Baba Ramdev himself if he is serious on to his demands then he do need to act by walking on the path of democratic process, other wise his MISSION is IMPOSSIBLE.
