Indian Railways

Indian Railways is the third largest railway network of the world, it has length of 60,000 kilometers which spread over 7,500 railway stations and carries on an average daily basis 20 million passengers from one part to another part of country, hence it is widely used transportation mode in the country. From time to time Indian Railways come up with facilities for its travelers, as well as vigil that it won’t be misuse by professionals especially agents, few months ago Indian railways IRTC arms which is liable for issuing online railway tickets for passengers, to get online ticket requirements in this regard for a person is first he/she has to register with the IRTC site, then he/she should have valid email id as their password for logging in the IRTC site is forward in their email id account, had blocked 4.6 lakhs of  email id’s whom they found suspicious as these were made by agents to get online rail tickets for their clients which were mean for individual and common peoples of the country to get online tickets, thus agents were doing business, now by amending the terms IRTC has come up with slab for two tickets in a day for every email id plus not more then ten tickets in a month period. Recently Divisional Railway Manager Vishesh Chobey of Ferozpur Railway division announced that Railways will erect large display at Katra few kilometers before Maa Vaishno Devi Temple for the benefits of the railway passengers.
One of the religious place in the country which attracts millions of devotees throughout year across the country is Maa Vaishno Devi temple, situated in the Katra, Jammu and Kashmir and more then seventy plus percent devotees mode of tavel to Maa Vaishno Devi is railways, once they bow their heads in front of Maa Vaishno devi temple then they were in hurry to reach at Jammu Tabi Railway station, hours in advance so that they can get their train, but at the time of delay of train, then they have to face score of problems. Considering this Indian Railways has made mind to erect largest display board near Baan Ganga for the benefits of its travelers. This display will help the passengers to get exact timetable of their concerned trains at Baan Ganga itself which is merely few kilometer away from the Maa Vaishno Devi temple. As per words of Divisional Railways Manager Visheh Chobey of Ferozpur Railways division that it is already cleared by railways and process of erection of display board will be completed up to June of this year, so certainly it is good news for the passengers and will help them to avoid from problems by reaching in advance on to Jammu Tabi Railway station.
In the coming budget of Railways there is possibilities that Railway Minister Dinesh Diwedi can announce score of benefits for its travelers, and among it railways has selected fifty main stations in the country which will be equipped with escalators facilities and escalators will be helpful for travelers in the categories of old age and handicapped , in the country right now only thirteen stations have this facility of escalators for its passengers and if it is announced by Railway Minister and work will start on to the project then number of railway station equipped with escalators will count sixty three and to upgrade stations with escalators Railways will need 280 million rupees, so to finance the project its not easy as railways loss is increasing, so how they will fund the escalators project it will be interesting to see.
So coming days are store for railways travelers schemes from railways in the different part of the country, along with it railway budget can also put smile on their faces as in the budget they can hear announcements from the railway minister, but exact and clear picture emerges only after the railway budget of this year, hence for countrymen its time to wait positively.
